Some things you never get over
I just realized that yesterday was my parents' wedding anniversary. They were married 60 years the year my father died. And I am having a hard time holding back tears. It's been 11 years since dad died, and 9 years since mom died. You'd think I should be "over it" by now, but I don't think I'll ever be over it.
(((((hugs))))Ginny. My dad has been gone for almost 8 years and I have NEVER gotten over it. I don't think I will. I know how you are feeling. Does it help to remember the good times? Yes but I still end up in tears.
(((HUGS))) Time heals some.Getting over it NEVER.I always find anniversay dates of special occasions difficult, especially when it involves special people in our lives((GINNY))
((((Ginny)))) Those are things that never go away.
Ginny, you never get over it. They were your PARENTS!! That day will always be a tender reminder of their love for each other and YOU! (((HUGS)))
((((Ginny)))) I can't imagine...do you still have "conversations" with them? I still "talk" with my cousin every now and then. You just don't let go, you know? And, why should we? With all the great advice you give on here, they must have been great parents to have though. Did you carry on traditions that they had?
(((Ginny)))
My mom still cries when my grandparent's anniversary comes around. Their birthdays too. They've been gone 22 years now. ((((HUGS))))

They'll always be in your heart, and you lost a piece of your heart when they were called home... ((((Hugs to you))))

((((((HUGS GINNY)))))) No matter how many years pass they will always be in your thoughts and in your heart!
My father died when I was 12 and He was my only caretaker and I miss him all the time. Focus on the good times and the happy memories. They are in a better place and the love they had for you still lives on in you. I'm sorry for your pain but never be upset because you miss them! An elderly lady once told me the greatest honor a parent can have is the love of a child after they have passed. Try and celebrate the day as a milestone in their life. It's how I bear daddy's death. Bless you
