How does this happen?
Would someone please tell me how my oldest son goes from being to a 7 lb 6 oz newborn who had his days and nights mixed up to a 12 y/o who loves music, smells good, and has been to his first dance all in the blink of an eye. It's kind of freaking this mom out! Every time I look at him he just is starting to look like a young man. I don't think I'm ready for this.
He is adorable!!!! Watch out for the girls! I know what you mean though. My DD turned 12 this year. Time does fly.
Just wait, Pam, until he gets a few years older and really no longer looks like a boy! There are a couple of young men at church, that are about 15, or so, and they have gone from boys to men! I don't know when that happened, either. I've known both of these boys, since they were little kids, too! How did my oldest daughter go from a tiny 6 lbs, 6 oz to nearly being a senior in high school?
Savor every second. It goes by so quickly.
I have the female version Pam, I know what you mean It's exciting watching them develop a life of their own but frightening and sad all at the same time!
Yes.........one day they are giggly, playful kids, and the next day, you are either shopping for bras and makeup for girls, or razors and aftershave for boys, and you wonder who that strange man's voice in your house is. LOL Sometimes I look at Jeff, @ 6'2", and marvel at the memory of him at 21", snuggled in my arms.............
OH - and Pam, that's the *wonderful* thing about nature taking its course - it doesn't care if you're ready for it or not! He's a great looking guy!
you guys are making me tear up!! I want my little Joey to stay just that, my LITTLE Joey with is little pudgy arms and sweet little boy kisses. And my 7 yr old already wants to wear makeup! LOL I don't think so kiddo!
Turn around and you're two, turn around and you're four, turn around, you're a young man going out of the door .. That was the song played at Greg's wedding reception for his dance with me.
I love that song Ginny, I remember it when I was a little girl and I never understood how true it was until I had my first dd.
Ginny, that song always makes me cry!
Ginny,I used to sit and hold each of my 3 children and cry as I thought of the words to that song.I so dreded the day when each of them would grow up .Now they are 35,32,and 28. Where DID the time go !?!?
I don't know, Wandi - you tell me. Last night my son wouldn't let me climb on a stepstool to change the shades on the kitchen ceiling fan - "I worry about you, Mom", said he. It feels very topsy-turvy.
If you find the answer let us all know. My DS is finishing up his freshman year of high school. I would like to keep him there but know they must grow up. What a nice looking young man.
I looove the 2nd picture. He looks like he has very nice eyes. What colour are they? Ever notice the boys always get the nice eye lashes
Pam, take out that "smells good" part and you've got Robin! lol Randy even went to his first dance last week. It was the 5th/6th grade dance. He had a blast. Robin will officially be a teenager this October!!! Yikes! We'll get through this. (I'm just going to keep telling myself that! rofl)
It's weird. It happened here.
Ok, this made me cry because my oldest who is 17 years old is a senior now and Im not dealing with her growing up to well.I keep thinking this will be an emotional year for me. my youngest was will be 14 in a month and a half and that scares me also. I guess it doesn't help that Im watching Katie Couric on her last day at the Today show
Pam what great pic's!!! He is so handsome. Ilovetom, your dd is beautiful.
