I have warm liquid sensation

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive July 2006: I have warm liquid sensation
By Insaneusmcwife on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 - 10:27 am:

running down my left thigh. It comes and goes. Is this something I should worry about? Has anyone ever had this. It is usually when I am sitting down. It feels as if someone slowly spilled warm water on my leg. I am debating on wether or not I want to fight to see a doctor as getting an appointment is extremly difficult if you are not broken, bleeding or dying.

At least call them and speak to the triage nurse. That is wierd. Let me know what you find out. (((hugs)))

I would call, especially if you are on BC or prone to clots. That does seem odd, and better to call and have it be nothing, than something serious you've ignored.

I am not on BC and I am not prone to clots. I tried to call and I can't get through. Virginia by far has the worst military health care system. They are way to overloaded with patients yet they won't let anyone go out of base on Prime coverage.

June 14th is the soonest they can get me in, grrrr!

Call the nurse line... they can actually get you in sooner if they think it's something that should be seen right away. I didn't find this out until I ended up calling to see if I should go to the ER (after failing to get an appointment earlier in the day), the nurse said "Oh, had you called us earlier, we have special slots in the clinics!!" I did end up in the ER that night, so I was kicking myself!! I can totally sympathize, with Big Red 1 coming from Germany we're WAY overbooked, and can't seek Prime off-post docs. At Fort Hood you simply needed a statement of non-availability, here you have to beg the Chief of Staff to give you special permission. Hope you're feeling better soon!!

Maybe its a pulled muscle or a pinched nerve??? I had a bad pulled muscle in my back and thats the feeling I had in my right arm. Its stinks that you can't get an appt until June. I just called to get a Dr. appt for my allergies and I got in tomorrow at 10:15. Guess I should feel lucky that I don't have to wait till June.
Best of luck and let us know how you make out. I am not firmiliar with Military health care.

Kristie, I used to get that same feeling, so I know exactly what you are talking about. I can't remember when mine started, but I don't think I've had it since back surgeries, so it might be worth getting checked out, it *could* be a pinched never or something. Either way, I don't think I'd ignore it. Do you ever get a creepy crawly sensation with it? And if you touch a spot on your thigh, do you actually *feel* it a few inches higher or lower than you are actually touching? I had those 2 things too when I had the warm/liquid sensation.

I do get the crawly kind of tingling sensation with it. I got ahold of the nurse line and they said to call back in the morning and see if we have anything available. Then she said if you feel you have to be seen right away you can drive out to the portsmouth hospital and go to the ER. If you go to the ER out in town you might have to pay for it. I have court tomorrow (I witnessed and accident and have been summoned to appear)and after court I am checking into the hospital for my sleep study, I'll mention it to the doc then and see what he says. Maybe he can give me some idea what it is. If not I won't be out of the hospital until late Friday afternoon so I'll have to wait until Monday. I have talked to a few people who think it might be a blood clot but hearing that it could be a pinched nerve makes me feel better as it is only when I am sitting. I'll let you all know what I find out. Thanks a bunch!

yeah and going to Portsmouth is going to take forever if you go to the emergency room!! We went in the other night for my daughter splitting her head open and we were there for 6 hours!!!!!! I would get it checked though, if nothing else for your peace of mind!!! good luck!!

I get a tingley feeling down my left leg and travels to the foot.I've had this since I had my c-section,almost a year. When it first started, it happened when I was sitting,I couldn't cross my legs or it started right away.Sometimes if I was out walking,it would start within a 1/2 hour of being out.It doesn't happen much now but it is very annoying,I get grumpy right away.I'm wondering if I have sciatica(sp.)I hope you get if figured out soon.(((HUGS)))
