My son and daughter-in-law are so nice!
Background: Greg, my middle, married son (and the father of my granddaughter) was born May 8th; his older brother, Don, was born May 16th. So every year for the past 5-6 years, Greg & Lori (my wonderful dil) have held a family party some time in May for both birthdays, Mothers' Day, and one of Lori's brothers has a birthday in May. This year, Lori threw a surprise birthday party for Greg's 40th birthday, on April 29th. After hearing nothing from them, I figured she was pretty much partied out after that (50+ people, plus a baby girl who may be starting teething). So I arranged to have my oldest son up for dinner and birthday/Mothers' Day celebration tomorrow. But, my dear son just called and said he and Lori want to take me out for dinner sometime in the next several days as a belated Mothers' Day celebration, and what would I like and what day. I said any day but I'd really like both of his brothers to be part of the party, and he said, of course, because we want to celebrate Don's birthday too. I don't know if it was his idea or hers, but that doesn't matter. I am touched to my heart.
How sweet and thoughtful! You are blessed Ginny, with a wonderful family. Happy Mothers Day!
That is very sweet of your ds and his wife.
Enjoy your dinner out!
Your family sounds wonderful! Have fun and Happy Mother's Day!
Well, we haven't had the family get-together yet. Brooke got sick, and then Lori got sick, and Greg&Lori are leaving for a week in Florida tomorrow. But, Greg took me out to lunch today after church, and met me at church, bringing Brooke with him so Lori could nap. So I had the pleasure of showing off my beautiful granddaughter to all my friends at church. And we'll have the family get-together later this month - probably on the Memorial Day weekend. It was so nice to be moving through the congregation hearing all the "Oh, what a beautiful baby" reactions.
Ooh, Ginny, I bet it was fun bringing your grandbaby to church! I can't wait to that myself someday!
