I got a kitchen set!!!!!
I just HAPPENED to stop in a great children's resale shop today only to find the kitchen set that I've been trying to find for Natalie!!! It's the Little Tikes Country Kitchen (older), which some of you may have. I've been looking everywhere trying to get a hold of one of these. They're going for $90-$100 on ebay, plus shipping. I got it for just under $30. I'm so excited!!!!! A little scrubbing and it looks like new. Just had to share!!!
She spent 20 min. just opening and closing doors....I still have to clean and disinfect the food and dishes. I'm planning on "cooking" tonight!! LOL
We bought one of those at a resale shop for almost 50.00 a few years ago and it is the most played with toy they have. They are a lot better than any of the new ones I have seen.
That set will last forever!!! We had a similar one (different colors) and when my kids outgrew it, it went to another family and they passed it onto a third group of kids. It still looks great. Oh, she's going to have so much fun with it! Make sure you get video of Natalie playing with it so you can share it with us.
Great Deal!!! Alissa has one like that and she loves it!
How cool!!! I am looking for a good used one for Taylor.
Oh that is so cool!! I got one for my daycare years ago, but it wasn't that nice!
Yeah!!! I love resale shops.
I've got the same one but in different colours. My DD just loved hers. She spent hours playing and would also wash her baby in the sinks.I'm going to keep it for the boys.Another toy that we got alot of use out of and Natalie would love is the Little Tykes house.Ours has about 10 different door bell sounds.Maybe Natalie can make you and you're DH dinner tonite!!LOL
I have that identical one for Madison - I bought it at a garage sale a couple years ago!
Goodness, it looks like new! What a great deal. I, too, love those children resale shops. Natalie is sure to have hours of fun! Yes, I hope you can post a picture or video of her playing "house".
I think we got a great deal, too! I did have to scrub it down...it just looked like it had been sitting in someone's garage for 2 years. the only thing about it that really isn't nice is the phone....it looks like some little kid just beat it to death, but that's okay with me! Natalie actually thinks the phone is pretty cool. We're going to go to Walmart tomorrow and look for food and pots/pans. I've seen some nice sets online but they seem pretty expensive...at least until I check out Walmart. If they don't have anything, then we'll get one of those!
That's so cool, and a good deal! My neighbor, when my kids were little, was out garage saling and happened to find a Little Tike's kitchen, for $20. She picked it up for me! I'm sure I payed her back, too. It needed a little cleaning as well, but my kids enjoyed that for years! Wasn't she a great neighbor! She was ALWAYS finding great stuff at the thrift stores and garage sales. I swear, when I went to Garage sales, everything looked like junk. Anne had a way of smelling out those deals! When my kids outgrew it, we put an ad in the paper and sold it for $20! LOL!
Little Tyke stuff is so cool! I bought the treehouse from a friend in 1987 and now it's being used by my grandson!I bought the spaceship and had it kept it in layaway for 2 months, I got it out 3 days before christmas, when I got it home it was missing the horn, I called them and they had it special delivered to my house on Ghristmas Eve day. I love them!!!! I hear that the mr clean sponge works great on little tykes stuff.
Thanks for the Mr. Clean suggestion! The top is a little dingey and isn't scrubbing too well. I'll pick up the Mr. Clean tomorrow and try it out.
You might even want to put a call into little tykes. You might be able to get a replacement phone. Isn't their stuff guarenteed? I have always heard WONDERFUL things about that co. Might be worth a try!!
Okay Nanaoie --- the Mr. Clean is FABULOUS!!!! It completely got rid of the dingy spots left, plus some scuff marks that were left. I'm AMAZED at how well it worked on the set. Thank you for the suggestion!!!
