Getting moved in
We're almost done! We've been so busy the past several days. Today is the first time I've even turned my computer on since I think last Wednesday. We're 98% done getting things out of the old house. There are a few things left in the garage, a little left in the fridge and a sandbox out back that needs to be emptied and then refilled here. Our poor garage here is packed full! lol I have no pictures or even a clock on the walls yet. I'll get to it--eventually. We do have some blinds up in our bedroom and bathroom and Robin's room. Randy's room has a sheet on a pressure rod in his window and dh will get his blind up tonight. We bought all the blinds, ceilings fans for the bedrooms and a glass storm door Saturday night. We just haven't had time to get them all up yet. We hope to have the old house completely cleaned out by tomorrow so we can give the keys to the new owners. We've rented back until Friday, but we know they love to get in a few days early. We won't ask for any rent back (wouldn't expect it anyway), but we still want to get them in ASAP. Everyone is adjusting really well--except Gizmo!!! Friday night was our first night in the house and he ran around the house all night meowing!!! lol It drove dh nuts and finally at about 2am dh put him in the basement and shut the door. He'll adjust eventually (I hope!). The other cat and both dogs love the house. The cats are loving having the whole basement to themselves--for now. Dh plans to put the pool table together that's been sitting in storage for years. He just needs felt. We need to get our landscape plans in to the HOA for approval so we can get started on that. It's a real pain to take the dogs out on leashes all the time. They miss being able to just go out on their own. It did rain/snow on Friday and in the morning on Saturday. That put a real damper (pardon the pun!) on moving things! But all in all things have gone very smoothly. We've only damaged two things. One of the doors on our entertainment center needs a little repair. It opened while moving it and cracked a little (the rest were taped shut after that). Dh broke a votive cup this morning looking for a pair of dress shoes to wear to an interview. No biggie--I have 5 more replacements ones (I thought ahead when I bought them years ago!). We're thrilled with the new house. So hopefully I can get back on here a little more. We've still got lots to do, but I can't do much while kids are here (they're napping right now). Our weekends will be busy for a couple months! lol I hope all is well with everyone and I hope to get caught up on the messages on here soon.
Glad your move is going well. Isn't it exciting!?!? Have fun with your projects.
Oh boy you have been busy havent you?! Sounds like so much work. I am glad you are almost finished!! Post some pic's when you can.
How exciting! Can't wait to see pics!
I'm glad to hear that everyone is adjusting well to the move....well almost everyone Keep us posted, and post some pictures of your new house, please! I'd love to see them, since we are building right now too!
I promise I'll get pics up soon. Like I said in another post a while back, they're all on dh's computer and at the moment, I have no idea where he put it! lol We're really enjoying the house and the daycare kids are LOVING the back yard! They have so much more space to play and run. Granted, it's all dirt right now! lol We'll get grass out there eventually. We still have a lot to unpack, but it'll happen. We've been incredibly blessed with everything during this whole process. Everything's gone SO smoothly and been very timely. I'm just one happy camper.
Wow! I'm so happy for you Cat even if it's a lot of work right now! I can't wait to see pictures. I'm of course working lots and having a time managing time. Don't get here often! (((((((((((( Cat )))))))))))))) It sounds like everything is great (minus the couple of little mishaps).
I know it doesn't seem like it to you probably but it seems like just yesterday you were posting pictures of what house you had picked out to build. This went fast! Enjoy your new house.
