Bad timing!
AARGHH!! I just started my period yesterday, which means I will most likely start my period the first day of our cruise next month!! Yuck!! I am a heavy bleeder. (sorry, TMI) On my heavy day, I need to change almost every hour. (We're talking super plus tampon + maxi pad.) This is not good! Has anyone gone on the pill just to stop a period? I am not on birth control since dh had the big V 13 years ago. I happen to have an appt. with my gyn May 9, so I was going to ask her if she could do anything for me. Just thought I'd see if anyone had any experience...My "romantic" vacation is in jeopardy, LOL!
B/C just might be you're solution. My friend was in a similiar situation with her honeymoon. She had to take 2 packs in a row with no 7 days in between and it worked for her.I hope you get it figured out it so you can enjoy you're cruise.
I also did that for my honeymoon. I just took an extra week of the b/c pills (during my honeymoon week), and started the sugar pills the following week. Then I started when I wanted to! I've done this one other time but can't remember what the event was. It always works and was recommended to me by friends. It's the best way! I've heard of and read articles about doing this all the time on b/c so you only have a period when you want one. I'm not saying it's probably a good thing to do all the time, but I've read some articles about it. Good luck!
I've never needed to do it, butI have heard of the BC method. I don't see why your Gyn. can't help you. Just ask. Have fun on your cruise!
Ditto on asking the doctor. It just might work. I think I might have my period when we are on vacation in SD. I don't think I will do anything about it, though. I'll just deal. I usually only have one day when things are bad, but they usually aren't THAT bad.
I will have a visit from AF about the time dh gets home from his 2 week trip. ROFL Lucky me, I will get 3 weeks off in all!!!!!!!! woohoo j/k That's mean of me. I have also heard of the BC method. Enjoy your cruise!! How exciting.
I've done it. I've also done the four months without a period, one month with for endometriosis, using regular bc pills. I just skipped the week of "sugar" pills. Works like a charm! Talk to your gyn. She'll probably go ahead and put you on them.
I'd call them today and see if they could prescribe them for you today. Most pill packs require you start on the first day of your period or that first Sunday. If you wait, you won't be able to start them until next month which will be right when you go on your cruise.
