Eagle Cam---almost time!!!

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive May 2006: Eagle Cam---almost time!!!

Remember the Eagle Cam that was posted a little while back?

Just wanted to let everyone know that it is just about time for the first egg to hatch. The momma has been fluffing her nest, and it looks like there may be a small hole in the egg today. There is supposed to be a hole in the egg a couple of days before it hatches, and the estimated hatch date is the 25th which is Tuesday!!

Here's the link in case anyone wants it. The message board has some interesting info, too...

Thanks for posting this, Adena! I've been busy and have been forgetting to check it out.

I bookmarked it. We will have to keep watching now!

We've been checking this daily! We are so addicted.

Awwwhh, he/she? is sleeping all curled up.

Just curious, has anyone seen it at night? I went on last night and it was still day time. And this morning, it is still just at bright. These are live shots aren't they?

When it hits night time they go to a replay of the day. Live feed starts again at day break (about 6:30 CST. I am addicted to these birdies! My kids all come and watch too, we got to see a "live" switch this morning before school. My 2nd grader just hatched eggs last week in school (tonight is our night with the babies). Anyway, it is neat to see how the real deal does it. We are all learning so much.

We have been watching religiously for weeks now. It was a sad day today when the eagles left the nest. These eagles have become a part of our lives. We check in them daily. It's a sad part of nature but they have been together for about 17 years which makes them more than 20 years old.

Yes, we were very sad, too. But it was a wonderful thing to get to watch these eagles. I was so sad for them after they lost the last egg, and still continued "looking" for it and nesting down like they were still caring for it.

I have not been following this at all. It's so sad that their eggs, or babies did not survive. I wish i had been following, it would have been interesting.
