Normally I would not post something like this. While speaking to my mother on the phone this morning, she told me my oldest brother tried to commit sucide, this is his 3rd time trying. He lives in the Chicago area, my parents are in South Florida. He is 48 yrs old, married for the 2nd time. Hes got two great boys from his first marriage who are 18 and 20. He is a lawyer. He was always moody, but I never knew the extent of it. I know when he was still single and about 20 or so, he tried for the first time. He took a bottle of tylenol. I remember that, because we were all still living at home. He has had professinal help over the years. Honestly I dont know how much . My mother states she can tell when he takes his meds. She said the conversations are calm and flowing. She said other times he is very moody. I know he has problems, but never knew the extent of it. Faith is 20 months old, and he or his wife have NEVER acknowledged her. What I mean by that, there was never a card sent. Im not speaking of gifts, just an acknowledgement. Granted I am not close to my brothers. But, Ive always sent them cards, Christmas, graduation cards to my nephews etc..
It makes me sad, that it makes my mother so sad. He spent a week at the hospital and just got released last week. He called my mother to tell her yesterday.
I guess Im not looking for advice, just felt I needed to get this out.
