Busy Saturday
We had already signed up for 2 batches of muffins, and a bag of grapes for the Easter breakfast tomorrow. That is fine, since each of my kids loves making muffins and they each make a batch. Only Sarah has been a little under the weather tonight and I end up finishing hers. Emily did hers this afternoon. She made blueberry and Sarah picked cranberry-orange. Sarah had to use craisins (dried cranberries), since you can't get fresh cranberries this time of year. Then my sister decided to have Easter dinner at her house and assigned me cheesy potatoes and a dessert. I decide to make carrot cake, even though I was hungry for strawberries, because my other sister doesn't like any berries. We go grocery shopping for all the supplies and then spent the whole evening making all this food. I assembled my cheesy potatoes and will cook them tomorrow, before we go. The cake still needs to be frosted, but the frosting is made. Emily made the cake. I still need to put the kids' baskets together, but that won't take me all that long.
MMMMM Dawn!!!! Cranberry-orange is my absolute FAVORITE! (And now I can't eat those anymore. ) You're a busy bunny! I have no kids @ home to do baskets for. Kind of sad. And they are going to their Dad's today. His parents are living with him due to their house being destroyed by Katrina - in the past Easter was always one of my X-MIL's holidays to cook for, so it's a given that they go there. Have fun! Hope Sarah feels better today.
How was your Easter? How's Sarah feeling?
I had a good Easter. My sister decided yesterday, to host Easter dinner and my whole family could make it! So, I got to see both of my sisters, my parents and all the nieces and nephews! Margaret made the ham and some veggies, Cheryl brought some yummy appetizers, Mom made 2 fruit salads and I brought cheesy potatoes and carrot cake. Sarah seemed to be better today. She was just very tired yesterday.
