Bladder infection
Today I have had the feeling that I need to pee, then I pee alittle then I feel alot of pressure around my urethra. No burning sensation. No pain. I have had UTI's in the past. Could this be one or maybe a bladder infection? I will call my dr. in the am but does anyone know of anything I can do at home?
Yep, could be. Cranberry pills or cranberry juice, lots of water and OTC pyridium - one brand is Uristat - you know, the stuff that makes your tinkle red/orange. LOL It helps relax the bladder spasms. Lots of Vitamin C helps too. I read once that when the *environment* in your bladder is hostile to bacteria - as in from vitamin C & cranberry - it helps inhibit the growth of bacteria. That is miserable, I have BTDT more times than I care to remember. Try that, hope it helps, and you feel better!
Sounds like a UTI to me - BTDT, 5 times in a 4 month period a couple of years ago. Lots of water, and yes, cranberry juice. But also, go see your doctor and pee in the cup. If you have a bacterial infection you'll almost certainly need an antibiotic. With luck, you have caught it *before* it gets to the burning stage (which is why lots of water, to dilute the urine).
A urinary tract infection or a bladder infection are the same thing. I would ditto Ginny on going to the doctor, because you don't want it to turn into a kidney infection. You probably need an antibiotic.
Hmmmmph, Annie, I am having the same problem kind of. Mine is all lower pelvis painn (bladder area), really bad. Weird. Plus we are all getting sinus infection due to the massive pollen counts no doubt. If you drink cranberry juice make sure its natural. Otherwise it will be full of sugar and will make the infection worse.
