Every spring my dd's school has a carnival. Each class puts together a basket to be auctioned. These are big items and the baskets go for a few hundred dollars each. My younger dd's class is doing an "American Idol" basket. I need some ideas for items to put in the basket. We are going to try and do a karaoke machine. But I need other "rock star" ideas.
My older dd's class is doing a "family fun" basket with board games and such. HELP!

The American Idol winners' CDs, or the compilation CDs from the show. Sunglasses, a gift certificate to a music store, a gold record (you could buy at a trophy store). Ok, I'll think more, I'm out of ideas (I'm not a fan of the show). It sounds like a really neat idea!

Did you need ideas for the family fun basket, too? If so, maybe those cool cloth checker games from Cracker Barrel (we have 3 of those and love them, and the small ones are only $10 and portable); Old Maid card set; those velcro ball and little paddles sets (I don't know what they're called!!) but they're inexpensive and fun; sidewalk chalk. I'm out for now. Good luck!!
