Trader Joe's
Just wondering what products you buy there and enjoy? I'm sending DH there tonight after work to pick up a few things for me. I have a couple of favorites so far. (It's new to our area) I love the banana crisps(not chips), the Vodka sauce and gorganzola stuffed pasta. I also bought some tortelini that was wonderful.
Love the baby greens beans in microwavable bag in the fresh produce dept. Frozen sweet potato fries are great but they do not always have them. Yummy Greek yogurt in individual servings. I'm missing my Trader Joe's, we moved and do not have one close anymore. Love the vodka sauce also. I have a super recipe for enchilada soup using all Trader Joe products, even one of my girls loves it, let me know if yu are interested.
Their produce is wonderful. I love their salads and they've got some amazing breads and cookies. Their english muffin bread is one of our favorites. They have great frozen dinners (stir-fry, fettucine alfredo, eggplant parmesan) and their tangerine juice is the closest thing to orange juice that I'll drink. They've always got great seasonal treats in stock, too.
I love Trader Joes!! My kids love their chocolate-covered frozen bananas. They also have these cheese tortes that I get for all my parties, I can't think of the exact name...there's a cranberry-hazelnut-gorganzola one that's especially nice. I also like their fresh flowers. They have so much fun stuff, and it's all reasonably priced! I only go about once a month, but I always try new stuff. Have fun finding your favorites!
Sugar snap peas in microwavable bag, Santa Maria tri-tip steak, Sesame cashews (very addicting!), Koala Crisp bars (Syd will love them), frozen terriyaki chicken wings, cinnamon-sugar pita chips, refrigerated terriyaki chicken, Greek yogurt mentioned above, frozen mango (awesome in smoothies), frozen orange chicken. I just love Traders!
Spinach tofu eggrolls (better than the ones at restaurants and healthier) buffalo burgers all of their fish and shellfish smoked almonds pistachios sunflower seeds peanut butter almond butter most of their breads soyaki marinade indian meals - just boil in bag and serve black bean dip garden patch veg. juice (just like V8) chocolate covered ginger their vitamins frozen breaded calamari (YUMMY) their coffee (any kind, haven't gotten a bad one yet) that's the list we use when we go and then dh gets whatever else looks good (it's by his work so he does the shopping). Their frozen meals are pretty good, their frozen sea scallops are great but our TJ's has been out for months. Ours has horrible produce so we never buy that there.
Oh and we love the vodka sauce too. quick, easy dinner with it is a small piece of smoked salmon (break it into chunks) - throw it, the vodka sauce, and some lightly (still crunchy) steamed asparagus all together and throw it on top of your favorite pasta. oh yes, that's the other thing we get a lot of, the various kinds of ravioli.
I buy the Bruchetta all the time and after warming it I pour it over cooked pasta then add toasted Pinenuts, Cooked Spinach, Chicken and feta cheese...YUMMY! I may have to make that tonight......
I love their peach salsa...we are a half hour away from them, so we don't go there much.
Andi, that sounds delicious. We bought the grilled vegetable bruschetta last time and it was really good.
Eve, I'm with you I love the banana crisps! My kids love the mangoes, to go..(their just presliced) Orange Chicken frozen was good, all produce, and Brushetta! Now, I need to try Andi's recipe!
Thanks, everyone! We went last night and stocked up again. Wow, their frozen vegetables were so cheap! I also bought some frozen tamales. I stocked up on the pasta sauce and pasta. I tried the freeze dried pineapple and it was yummy. Low in calories for the whole bag and crunchy! They were out of the banana crisps, so I'll have to send DH later. I also bought the Orange chicken--I've heard so many people talk about it. I was good and got the brown rice too! I need to print out this post and go again without children, so I really have time to look! Thanks again for the suggestions!
I'll have to print this out, too! Would you believe I haven't had a chance to visit TJ's yet?! One of these days when nothing is going on while the kids are in school...
