How does YOUR week look ?
Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: How does YOUR week look ?
Well, it's a Monday ..... TOO much going on in my world, but that's how it stays ... things are looking up though, oldest's baseball game (varsity) got rescheduled from today to later in the week so I have no problem going to DD's (only 9yrs old, but these are big deals for her too!) first softball game tonight ... GO PURPLE TEAM (no, I don't think they actually have a name yet, our league is operating on a very small budget!) Planning on rescheduling b-i-l's doctor appt from today ..... he's now living with us and I'm helping him with these things (he's disabled and used to live with mom, but she was called home last month so now I need to step up in this area too!) Preschool director just called and is sick and looking for a volunteer to come in and help out this morning ..... told her I'd try ..... not sure about that, was planning on working this morning (and doing laundry, haha!) Usually I don't even get out of my pj's on a Monday until dinner time because of my job and getting caught up on life in general .... I may have to put make up on before I was planning on it (that would be Tuesday! haha!) SO - don't know what we're having for dinner, or even what tomorrow holds, but today is off to a running start .... How about you guys ???
well - lets see....I had a Dr's appt this morning. And Jayden was home sick from school. So typical yucky Monday morning! Tomorrow night is the kids' band/chorus concert, Wednesday is free so far, Thursday Jordi has a Dr's appt, Fri is a noon dismissal for my kids and were having sleep over night for all 3girls plus were going to family ice skating then pizza hut for dinner for 8 of us! FUN FUN FUN! Should be a GREAT week! How about everyone else???
Monday is starting out once again with a dr's appt. and misc. drama club & softball practices for my oldest Dd - my middle Dd tutors kids that need extra help on Tues & Wed mornings before & after school so she has to be to school at 7 and stay til 4 both days. The youngest Dd has Girlscouts on Wednesday.....I think that's about it so far. I have to do laundry, cleaning, cooking & groceries in the mix. Typical week Anyone else got a busy week planned?
AWESOME .... another girlscout .... did you guys participate in Thinking Day last month ? We had some freaky stomach virus going throughout the schools, so it got rescheduled, we are doing it this Friday .... the girls are excited, I'm stressed, you know, regular stuff !!! Are you a leader with GS ? What level is your daughter ? Mine is a 3rd grade Brownie .... ~h
Busy... shoot me now....
Feona - you are a hoot! Wish I could help you more! Harlena - Jaydi is in 2nd grade - her 1st year though - we started her late. She goes every other week & I'm not a leader. I'm not as involved as I should be....hopefully that will change as I get more free time.
I'm packing to spend the weekend with a friend. I am really looking forward to it. Need some "down" time and space to think & sort through things. Time to re-connect & re-charge I'm EXCITED!!
My oldest DD has her school production of The Music Man this weekend - so we will be attending the play both friday & saturday this weekend. Very Excited
Getting geared up for The Music Man.....2 days and counting til opening night!
Harlena - I think that freaky stomach virus you had in your schools a couple weeks back has hit ours! My youngest was up last night with a tummy ache then tried to go to school today but came back home after only an hour.
Easter week is an amazing week. From light to darkness to light. So much spiritually, with our Church community - love the music during this time, seeing family, experiencing traditions reaching back to my childhood. Excited. Even if you don't normally do religion - go to a Easter Saturday evening or Sunday sunrise service with your kids as a cultural experience- Amazing - so positive - such a joyful celebration. We're going to fit in an Easter Egg hunt somewhere along the way. If we get to NYC we will walk across the Brooklyn Bridge with a group that does the stations of the cross (steps along the way to Jesus' crucifixion). They re-enact it with Jesus and the thieves and Simon of Cyree carrying their crosses and they are crucified in Central Park. We often will go to a passion play done by children in a local church ( I cry every time). In the Catholic and some other liturgical churches this week they cover the cross with black from Thursday evening service in candlelight thru Sunday morning. Really shows how the light goes out.
Our boys had the Passion play at their school. The 7th and 8th grade students perform it. (Private Catholic school) We will be attending services beginning Holy Thursday. On Friday, we will go to church to participate in the stations of the cross and there will be a celebration to venerate the cross. We will probably not go to the Saturday Vigil simply because it's so long and our children are still little. Easter Sunday should be great. Linda, I cry every time, too, when I see the Passion, or even when we do the stations of the cross. The Catholic churches I've been to actually cover the crosses with purple. And you're right, it really does show how the light goes out.
This all sounds so nice - we aren't Catholic and don't go to church regularly but we are christian and believe in the Lord. ANY of the activities you mentioned Linda sound absolutely beautiful & I wish I lived closer to NYC - I would LOVE to take my girls to witness the walk & re enactment. We are planning our annual easter egg hunt & brunch - but other than that - just working on keeping peace in the family & figure out where I go from here.
KITTENS DUE!!!! Sometime this week! I can't wait!
Mommy 3, Just about every Lutheran, Episcopal, and Catholic church and school will do something near you on Good Friday, Saturday night (trumpets, baptisms, beautiful music) and Easter Sunday. Just call 3or 4 within a few miles of you and ask what they're doing. Most are used to people who don't "do church" but want to experience something for Easter. You won't regret trying and any one of those will welcome you. The passion plays are often listed in the local paper or on-line.
Enchens Love hearing about your kids. You do such great things with them.
Very nice. I may tag along with my Brother & sister in law to their mass. The girls will like that I think
I have a Drs appointment Monday morning then shopping with a friend. Tuesday I am going for a Body Scan - checking for suspicious moles & such. Oldest DD has softball games Mon, Tues & Thurs. I was hoping to leave for my friends place in PA Thursday evening after Jamis game....but not sure if thats gonna happen now. DH is also supposed to leave for Myrtle Beach with our 2 youngest DD's on Sat the 10th....and im supposed to get a few days off....but now dont know if thats happening either! UGH!!!
I took my 2 older girls shopping today for summer clothes. Spent WAY too much - as usual. But they should be set for awhile - & everything gets handed down to the baby anyway....sooner or later!
Tuesday I have a Lawyer appt for my lawsuit, Wednesday a Drs appt. I have blood work scheduled for Thursday & thats it for me. My oldest DD is in Florida and my 2 younger DDs are in Myrtle Beach SC with their Father. I will have the house all to myself - with exception of the dog, 3 cats, 3 kittens, Turtle & 2 frogs! LOL ;)
I treasure TIME ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!! YOUR RICH!!!
I've been on Spring Break so I haven't even looked at the calendar. I know my boys go back to school Mon. Track practice in the afternoon if it's not raining. Dh has his BB game in the evening. His team made it to the finals! The rest of the week is nice and uneventful. Uneventful meaning nothing extra.
Oh I KNOW!!! Im sitting here - still in my PJ's watching my Tivo'd shows! IM IN HEAVEN!!!! I know everyone is accounted for & having a great time (yes - even if it is without me!) and Ive got stuff to do but can do it on MY TIME instead of FAMILY TIME!!! What a difference! I am gonna appreciate it for all its worth! ;)
Today I have to get my fasting blood work done. See my therapist & take my daughter shopping for a swim suit - we are going to Splash Lagoon with another friend & her 2 kids on Tuesday for the night - Jordi needs a suit that can withstand the shooting water & not throw her bikini top to the side! LOL NOOOOO!!!!! Thursday is my annual physical (hence the blood work today And Friday is Happy Hour with my best friend. Gonna be a good week!
Birthday celebrations are in order this week. Both of my little ones want a treat for their class. Dh and I will be surprising them for the weekend with a birthday trip. It'll be a busy week, but it only happens once a year.
I love birthday trips. Where are you going? What treat are you bring?
We are going to surprise the boys with a trip to Leg go land. Older ds just wants to bring in chocolate chip cookies. Younger ds wants to bring in a cookie "popsicle". It's basically a cookie with a stick in it. He wants to decorate them a certain way. This means we'll be baking on Thursday night and then on Sunday night.
Wow Legoland. Sounds great. Happy Birthday(s) to you children. Snacks sound fun - very kid friendly.
Do you live near San Diego? Because if you do I am officially jealous! Perfect weather! The snacks sounds exhausting. Older mom here.
San Diego!!!! LOVED IT!!!! ;) Ive never heard of the cookie on a stick b4! Sounds interesting. YUMMY
Yes, I live a couple of driving hours from it. We live in an area that's centrally located. It's close to beaches, mountains, and cities, yet it's rural enough to not be crowded. Yes, our weather tends to be nice overall. No complaints here. The snacks are actually pretty easy. Cookies bake in less than 10 minutes. I'm all for that. My boys will be helping me. As far as the decorating, I limit it to one of two different designs. That's it. Easier than cupcakes or a cake, that's for sure. Like I've said before, it only happens once a year. And I know that it'll be all too soon before they'll roll their eyes at me and say, "Mom! We don't do treats in our class anymore."
True true. I guess we need to enjoy these times while we have them!
