Puking?

When you puke, do your eyes practically swell shut afterwards? I made the huge mistake of taking my prenatal vitamins right BEFORE I had breakfast and I puked up everything! Connor kept saying, "Ew, gross mommy!" while watching me puke (didn't have time to shut the door) But he took care of me afterwards by bringing me stuffed animals and snuggling with me on the couch. Too cute. He kept saying "It's ok Mommy." while stroking my arms and face. I'm wondering if I should go into work this afternoon...it seriously looks like I've had plastic surgery on my face and the swelling hasn't gone down!
Use a cold rag..
I've never had that type of reaction, ever. Does this always happen to you or just during pregnancy? Is this "morning sickness" or are you sick?
Yikes. I don't recall that I've ever had swollen eyes afterwards, but sometimes, puking happens with such force, that it could cause some damage to blood vessels. I can relate to not shutting the door. LOL! I end up with a dog behind me wondering what is going on, because I couldn't shut the door.
I was pregnant last year during the holidays and spent most of the time on the couch, in between running to the bathroom to puke. I threw up 3-4 times a day for a solid 5 months. I totally feel for you. But, my face/eyes never did swell or anything like that.
Not when I was pregnant, just anytime I get sick....when I puke, I burst all the little blood vessels in my face & my face swells up huge. It's really sad and I look horrible. But, just part of being sick with me.
Ok, glad I'm not the only one. I went into work with broken blood vessels all over my face...it wasn't pretty, and I was dead tired, but I couldn't just stay at home. And, yes, it was morning sickness due to the prenatal vitamins!
Heidi, can you switch brands that have a coating that desolves in the intestines rather than the tummy? Or perhaps with a different flaovor. My prenatals had a very yummy vanilla flavored coating. It was only a slight flavor, just enough for me to think "yumm" I hate pills and usually can't swallow them, so this helped me.
Dana, you're right. i think i might switch back to the ones that dissolve that way. These ones have a thin coating and dissolve in the stomach. I'm heading to Safeway to see what they have!
