Canadians could see a change in government without an election
Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Canadians could see a change in government without an election
Thought the Americans on the board might find this interesting. I commented a bit about Canadian politics early in November when your election was going on. It looks like our opposition parties (3 major ones) are so fed up with the leading party that they are joining forces to oust the government. Should be an interesting few days. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/081201/national/parliament_crisis
It'll certainly be interesting to see how this all plays out!
Is this going to be a peaceful takeover?
I don't think so. I actually find it very frustrating. We just had an election on October 14th. Whether you agree that our PM is doing a good job or not, he was elected to run our country by the people of Canada. It frustrates me that the Bloc (who have a mandate to separate from Canada) are playing a major role in this takeover. There are many people up in arms about the whole process. Some are very excited about the takeover and others, like me, see it as democracy falling apart. I wonder how many of the people that are making all of the stink now actually got off their bottoms and went to vote on October 14th. The voter turnout was a record low...only 60%. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. I would much rather go back to the poles though than have a government who has not been elected leading our country for the next year or so.
