Just got THE call!
Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Just got THE call!
My son just called - her water broke and my dil is on the way to the hospital. They've been keeping the baby's name secret but my granddaughter doesn't keep secrets well - they will name him Blake. I'll keep everyone posted. When she saw the doctor a week ago Friday, the ultrasound showed the baby weighted 7 pounds 11 ounces, so I am pleased that he is coming a few weeks before his due date, even if his due date was my birthday. She saw the doctor again yesterday, so I am assuming everything is just fine.
That's so exciting! Please keep us posted!
Woohoo!!!!!!!!
How exciting!!!!
The doctor was right! Keep us posted.
How exciting!
Yeah!!! If he's half as cute as their older one, look out!
Yes, Heidi, and if he's half as bright as his big sister (or his father and uncles) they'll really have to look out.
How exciting! Are you keeping your granddaughter for them?
I'll be looking for a cyber-announcement soon!
Great news.. Keep us posted.
How exciting!!
Vicki, she's with her Mom-Mom, her other grandmother, who lives only about 15 miles away, and who has set up her guest bedroom specifically for Brooke.
Can't wait for the official birth announcement here! Woo Hoo!!!
Waiting to hear...
Great news. Can't wait to hear the announcement!
Can't wait to hear
YES!!! I woke up about 10 minutes ago, and was just checking my cell phone to see if there were any text messages when it RANG, and my son said "Hi Mom, say hello to Blake". My dear dil is fine, tired, of course, but I could hear her talking in the background. Blake hadn't been weighed yet when my son called me, but he estimates around 8 pounds. Now, back to sleep.
Congratulations to your new grandson
Awww, congratulations!
CONGRATULATIONS!!
YEAH!!! Congratulations to all of you and Welcome to the world, Little Blake!!!
Happy Birthday Blake!! Congratulations to all.
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How exciting!!!!!!! Can't wait to see pics of Blake now!
Congrats!!! I am glad to hear that everyone is doing so well!
Congrats to your new grandson. I'm glad everyone is doing well. Hopefully, they'll send you a picture and we all can see him, then!
Congratulations!
Have you been to see him yet? I keep looking for some photos!
Photos tomorrow, I'm told. No, I haven't seen him yet. My dil and son want alone time with their daughter and new son, time for her to recover from about 13 hours of labor. I will visit next weekend, when everyone has had a chance to catch up on rest and they have some sense of his sleeping patterns. But my son promised to email some photos late tonight or first thing in the morning. I was really surprised, when I called a little while ago, that my granddaughter is in the hospital room - I think they have rooming-in - with her parents and her brother. She is excited and very happy, burbling about her baby brother.
Congratulations!!!!
Congratulations, Ginny! It is so nice to hear that your kids want to take the time to be a new family together before the rush of visitors start. I was given "how could you do this to me?" look and "you should feel awful" guilt trip look when I told someone I wanted to have DD see the new baby first. I was only given a few minutes alone, but at least we did get that. Hats off to you for being the MIL who listens! Looking forward to photos.
Congratulations, Ginny!!! Wonderful news!!
Congratulations Ginny! I think it's wonderful that they want the time alone, I did that this time with no visitors in the hospital and it made my time there so much better. Those first couple of days can be overwhelming and it was so nice to be able to get used to the new addition and have time for him and his brother without a whole bunch of added people.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! What happy news!!!!
Ginny, it is possible that she is staying at the hospital. My pastors wife and several of my sisters friends have done this recently, at two different hospitals. They gave birth, had the older sibling/s brought in and they stayed at the hospital until they were discharged. 12 years ago that wasn't an option. I might have gotten to see my kids an hour a day, for the four days I was in the hospital. I made the doctor release me early because my kids missed me so bad, and I missed them terrible too. Probably wasn't the best decision but I felt I didn't have any other choice. If they could have roomed in with me, I likely wouldn't have had that extra stress/rush.
Congratulations!!!! How exciting! I can't wait to see the pictures. Newborn babies are so beautiful and special. What a perfect holiday gift!
Congratulations!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS !!
