Are there such things as finding resources for people in immediate need of help? I mean, were looking at needing top notch care without the price. I don't think state funded programs are enough for this person. Along with alcoholism there are deep psychological problems needing to be addressed, going to back to this persons childhood. This person is a danger to their self and needs help asap. But, the cost of the ideal program is $40,000 for a 90 day intervention and detox program. What do people who make minimum wage do when they need this type of help? This is a two years wage for them. Are there programs out there that help with the cost? I don't know what to do. I know nothing about this evil addiction. I know they need help but I feel like my hands are tied.

I don't know anything about this specific situation. I would recommend calling Al-Anon they may be able to point you in the right direction.

I posted a little while back about my father in law being an alcoholic. It is sad when you can see so many loved ones willing to give their help and support but the person doesn't see it, doesn't care, etc. He was doing great for about two months, then he started with his "Well, I can have just a beer." Sigh. That's always how it starts up again so this time we're not hearing of it. Last time we thought more like, well maybe he can have just a beer. At that time he said he wasn't addicted he just let thigns get out of hand. Now we know better.

((((HUGS))) I know it's hard.

There are many places out there. My bil is a recovering alcoholic. I agree with checking with a local AA chapter. Buta local hospital should also have some available programs they can get you in contact with.
