All those internet rumors about it being bad for kids are soooo wrong. We've been having a great time. Between the shopping, lion exhibit, dolphin exhibit, shark reef, both the M&M and Coca Cola factories, games at the Excalibur and the Adventuredome at Circus Circus.... we are dead tired! The kids passed out within 10 minutes of their bathes after we got back. We're generally back in the hotel by 8pm anyways.... right as the "adult playground" comes to life.... all of which is no interest to me anyhow. I didn't realize there is so much more than gambling to do here. I've only been here once before and that was 4 years ago for the Marine Corps Ball and we didn't venture out after the ceremony to see what it was like. We're heading home tomorrow... but not until after I hit up the day spa for some relaxation and preparation for this years Marine Corps Ball in San Diego on Monday. Anyways... i'm having fun. About to go to bed. I get one whole bed to myself since DH does his gambling at night. I'm loving it. LOL I'm especially loving the fact that this trip isn't nearly as costly as I had originally put in the budget for. Kids are cheap here! And FYI- The Rio Carousel Buffet is to DIE FOR! Mmmmmm.......
Sounds like you are having a good time! Tired kids mean they had a full day, too! Sleep well, and enjoy your spa experience tomorrow.
I never even thought of taking the kids there, but it sounds like you have found all the fun stuff to do. I have been thinking about what to go do for my dh's vacation this next year and was thinking of Denver, but I may have to change my mind.
Are you going to visit the Hoover Dam? If I ever went to Vegas, I would want to see that.
Dawn- I definitely want to see the Hoover Ham and the Grand Canyon. I just think the kids are still too young to do good on a long day trip like that. Maybe without the kids someday or when they are older. On our way out, we made a last minute stop to see the Bodies Exhibit. I have been wanting to see this for a long time so I was thrilled. I was a little nervous taking the kids in since they are real bodies but it is not as gruesome as I imagined it would be. It was actually a GREAT learning experience and all of us. Well, except Nathan. He just wanted to touch, touch, touch. Eeewwww. LOL DH held him most of the way through. They had a part of the exhibit that was about the fetus and showed actual babies throughout each stage of pregnancy. Very interesting, kind of sad (knowing you are looking at real babies) and definitely makes me feel confident in being pro-life. The human anatomy is amazing though. We had fun. Just got home from our Ball a few hours ago. Will try to post pictures soon.
I'm headed to Vegas again next July for our karate seminar, but this time SANS-KIDS!!! Dh may go. I almost wish he wouldn't and I could go alone! (well, with the 15 other people from my school) We've never been on a vacation alone together. If he does go we'll stay a few extra days after the seminar is over--just for us. I guess it could be fun. I'm glad you guys had a good time. We went to a lot of the places you did when we were there last summer. The kids really enjoyed it. Excalibur was AWESOME!!! We went to one of the dinner theaters--Tournament of Kings. SO cool!
We had Bodies, here in Milwaukee. We had tickets to go and then I got the stomach flu, so I had to stay home. DH took the kids, though. It was the last weekend, so I didn't get a second chance. We got a museum credit for my ticket, though, so we went to the Milwaukee Museum over the summer, just to look around and see an IMAX movie about the Great Lakes.
