Hello!!
It's been a little while since I filled you all in on my progress with this pregnancy. Things are going great! I'm currently 34 weeks! WOW the time is flying by! The baby is measuring exactly where he should and staying active and looking great all around. I've only gained 13 pounds! I was a little concerned about it being such a small weight gain but my doc. said that I was right on track. By the birth it should have me gaining about 20 and he said that was ideal. I'm not used to gaining the "right" amount of weight, I usually always gain at least 35 and with my first I gained 55!! My taper of the methadone is going as planned. I'm still dropping my dosage weekly. I started at 65 mil. when I found out I was pregnant and now I'm down to 29!! I'm very happy about that. By the time the baby comes I should be at around 18-20 mil. I pray to God that this baby is healthy at birth. I've done everything to increase his chances of coming right home with me after he's born. This has been a very stressful pregnancy to say the least. I'm feeling fine, the dose dropping has'nt seemed to affect me at all, so as long as I stay out of withdraw I can continue tapering and hopefully if I'm not withdrawing that means the baby isn't either. There are so many mixed reports out there on weather or not dose amount as anything to do with withdraw after birth. I think the lower the dose the better, but there are many out there who disagree with me. Oh well, I've done what I feel was the best thing and that's all I could do. Anyway, just wanted to check in! Bobbi is right. You keep doing what your supposed to do the rest is in anther set of hands. And I personally dont' think they would have blessed you with this baby if they didn't think you could do it. I'll be praying for both you and your baby boy whom I'm sure will be just great. Ooooh I just reliezed 34 weeks you will have a new baby boy to hold and snuggle for Christmas.
