Nintendo DS or PSP??
I am copying your post Tonya!! LOL We are thinking about getting one of these for my 8 yr old, which one do you recommend? I think I got the names right, we are looking for a hand held, portable game system.
Well I can answer into this. Timmy has the old version of a game boy and this year for Christmas we are getting him the DS because all of his games are able to be used with the DS from the Game Boy. So if he has games already you might want to think about that.
My kids love their DSs and they are 12 and 14. Definitely if your child has a nintendo already I would go for the ds since it is backwards compatible. All of my friends kids and family have ds. I don't think I know anyone that has a psp. My mom even has a ds that she plays puzzle games on.
Hey, Have you heard of Nintendo DSi? It is a new version and is going to be sold in November 1st here in Japan. When will it be sold in US?
My dks both have a DS they are 8 and 10. They love it. There are lots of games, and all the games from their old gameboy can be played on it. My brother has a PSP. He travels a lot and uses it to watch movies, and he does have some games. I will say that the games are more expensive, and there aren't as many. It was also a lot more expensive. Also, a lot of the games I have seen are for older kids. There seems to be more games for younger kids with the DS. For an 8 yr. old, I would go with a DS.
I, too, have to go with the DS. My son loves his. I think it has a great selection of games, especially for kids in that age category.
DS... much better games for a young child.
I have a DS Lite and my dh has a PSP, I catch him playing mine all the time. I think the DS has more games right now suitable for younger kids.
Ds has a DS and likes it. His older cousins have PSP's and like them. I think DS may have more games in the younger age group.
Definitely a DS. I just bought one for Kaitlyn as a Christmas present on ebay. There are a ton of bundle deals on there right now. And they have their 10% fall savings code valid until the 31st if you use paypal.
We have one of both for my almost 13 year old (tomorrow is his big day). Anyway he bought the psp about a year ago for himself. He rarely uses it. However the ds is used often, all my kids have one actually. No one buy the one who bought the psp uses it and really next to never.
