V-tech vs Leapster
Ok ladies Jade is 4.5 and wants a video game so I was wondering who has had good vs bad experiences with the above kids games. I want her to have something she can learn on and think she is just playing games. She used a friends Leapster and loved it and learned while playing so opinions please. Thanks ladies.
I don't know much about either but my nephews have leapsters and they love them. Don't really know if that helps and I have bought games for gifts and there are a lot to choose from.
My 4 year old has v-tech for the tv to hook up at home ( I'm actually going tomorreo to buy him the new v-tech wireless for home) He has leapster for onthe go car rides, bus rides, other on the go activity he learns form them both loves them bot. for just simple game play he has the nintendo ds-lite, but i have games like diego( still a learing game) it teaches spanish, adn other preschool games. I dont' think you an go wrong with eithe. but for on the go learing and play and to keep them occupied I would diffiantly say the leapster.
We had the v-tech handhelds, the in-room one for the TV, and they got Leapsters for Christmas one year. Other than the fact that the Leapsters "disappeared" at the sitters, those were the ones that got the most use. I ended up selling the v-tech in room system, and now I have the handhelds but no games. LOL! The kids got Nintendos last year (I think) and love those.
Both my kids have leapsters and love them. The new leapster can connect to the compter too. I got them GBA from my nephews and they enjoy them and are really good with them so they are getting DS Lites for Christmas because they can use the old GBA games and they have good games for kids. Olivia turns 5 in December and has been really good at taking care of her games. I was able to buy a really nice case to carry the leapsters and the games, it also has enough room for the GBA. We had a V-tech that hooked to the tv and the kids really didn't play it that much. I was really worried about getting them started on video games but when I watch them learing while playing it eases my mind a little. I just make sure that they only play for a certain amount of time.
Crystal that sucks that they "disappeared" like that.
My daughter had the Vtech VSmile and she/we loved it. The games are fun and they learn too.
DD is 7.5 and has had her Leapster for 3 years. She still loves it. She never tried a V-Tech, so I can't offer a comparison.
We have the Vtech vsmile and at 7.5 years old Brendan still plays with his. His dad recently bought him a few new games and they are what he'ss currently doing in school which made me happy to see. We also have had a leappad but that was when he was younger, it didn't get as much use as the vsmile does. I "think" we got Brendan his for his 6th birthday.
My boys LOVE their Leapster. Don't have any experience with the Vtech though.
