A question on shower heads...
We just moved into a new home (yeah us!) anyway, I want to get a new shower head in our shower. Is there any particular one that any of you have found to be a great value & work up to its advertised expectation? I go to Home Depot & Lowes and look - then come home & read reviews...I don't know what to get without spending a fortune. Any recommendations?
I have used a lot of different brands over the years. I personally like one that has different sprays and is removable. As for brands, I've had expensive and cheaper ones, and honestly, I haven't found it makes a lot of difference. Reason being, here, in the humid climate, at some point, they ALL mildew in the spray holes and at some point I end up replacing them because of that.
Agree with Karen. I am more concerned with the spray patterns then the brand name. I also buy the ones that are removable, kids like to use it to wash their hair, the dogs, etc.. They all get build-up in them and in time need cleaned, if not replaced.
Oh and great news on the house..
Speakman makes a good showerhead. If you get one on a bar, just make sure it will angle the way you want it to. I bought two hand helds on bars for our showers and they just didn't fall right, so I had to get showerheads as well and install a diverter. We went with Delta which were inexpensive and had a good spray. Congrats on the house. Ame
We like Moen products because they have a lifetime warranty. Anytime they start to leak, you call a 1-800 number and they send you a little kit with washers and stuff for free. We've had the same ones for years and rarely replace washers and stuff but when we do, it's free.
We have Moen, and they work WONDERFULLY. We've been in our house over a year and they still spray as perfectly as they did when we moved in.
Thanks so much for all the input! I knew you all would give some great advice. Thanks for the congrats on the house - we moved to the country & will have horses & a big house to enjoy!
Both of the ones in our house came from our county utilities for free. They are water savers, nothing special. But they do offer a spinning dial to change the spray from shower to massage. Not bad for free. I liked them better than the ones that were originally there.
We were given free energy savers from our utility company, as well. I don't like them, and removed them. I found that our showers took twice as long, which totally defeated the purpose of having them. I'm in a home with 6 females with long and/or very thick hair, so we need some power!
That's too bad. Ours sends out plenty of water. I was actually surprised when I tried them.
