Vacuum/sweeper for bare floors

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive October 2008: Vacuum/sweeper for bare floors
By Bellajoe on Monday, October 13, 2008 - 05:45 pm:

I have hard wood floor in my kitchen. I've had a Swiffer Vac for about 1 1/2 years and it just completely died on me. I really like using something like that on my hardwood instead of using a broom. I do have a Dyson Sweeper and used that on my kitchen floor sometimes but it's not that great to used on the kitchen floor.

Does anyone have a bare floor sweeper/vacuum that they like to use on their hardwood or tile? I wasn't a big fan of the Swiffer Vac. It worked well for a while but then lost it's "juice" pretty quickly. Sometimes it wouldn't even make it throughout my whole kitchen before it started dying again. And my kitchen isn't THAT big! :)

Thanks for any suggestions

I just use the dry Swiffer cloths/mop on my hardwoods.

My swiffer dry cloths just don't *keep* all the dog hair on them, so I end up sweeping anyway. :)

I love my new sweeper for my hardwood. It's the one that I believe Kaye and Yvonne recommended to me. It's GREAT on hardwood! Doesn't spread it around, but actually sucks it up. You might not want a new sweeper though. It's a Eureka Boss Smart Vac (with a bag).

A friend of mine recommended something called "flip-it" to me. It sucks it up and also dry mops the dust. I haven't been able to find it at our local stores yet, but I would like to. We have wood flooring that I am forever sweeping.
