Hair question...
Dd for the last year has been dyeing her hair with semipermanent hair dye, she has medium brown hair, she started out dyeing it a reddish color which didn't look too bad then started dyeing it black, now she wants to go back to her original color, it is coming out at the roots already but she has a long way to go if she just lets it happen on it's own, is there anything I can buy like at a beauty store that can take the dye out quicker? Or would I be better off taking her to a salon?
I would take her to the salon if it were me. They can match it up to her roots perfect and then you are done with it!
You can go to Sally Beauty Supply and get something that will remove the remainder of the color. It's like a color corrector or something, I don't know the specific name but they should know. But you do have to get it at a beauty supply.
You can't buy anything at Sally's though, if you're not a licensed beautician, correct?
There are some things that you need a license for at Sally's but not everything.
Thanks for the info!
No, you can buy most things @ Sally's. As for removing the color, I don't know if I'd do that - it's very harsh on the hair. However - if she dyed it black and wants her natural color back, there is probably not much choice, since color will have to be removed in order to recolor it back to her natural color. I'd suggest some regular, deep conditioning for weeks/months to come. And if she's a flat iron user, she may want to curb that as well, or she's likely to end up really frying her hair.
I am not a beautician but I buy all kinds of things at Sally's. I agree with the other posts. She needs to hit a Salon, even if it is a beauty school--witch probably deals with this often. Good luck
Many years ago I got sick of a colour I was using, so went in for a dye back. She just matched my roots to the new colour.
I suggest a salon too.
Anyone can buy at Sally's. I personally love that place. I believe the they ask if you are a licensed beautician to see if you can get the discount.
