Update on me and my pregnancy
Hi all. I'm currently in my 28th week. Things are going great with the baby and I'm starting to feel huge! I just started with seeing my OB every other week! Things are going way too quickly for me!! I'm prepared as far as having everything I need, I"m just NOT prepared mentally. I'm not sure if I will be until I see his cute little face My taper is going as planned. I'm at 43 mil. It's such a SLOW process but it's going well. I still wish I could just stop NOW with no problems but that is very much against all doctors orders, so I have to do it this way. Hopefully I will be in the 20's before the birth and I pray with all my heart that the baby will not suffer withdraw. That is my number one biggest concern. I'm trying my very best to get low enough on my dose before the baby gets here. Every baby is different too. It all depends on how a particular baby reacts to methadone. Some women can take rather high doses thoughout their pregnancies, like 150mil and up and have a baby with NO withdraw, and some women can be on low doses like 20 and have a baby with withdraw. It's sort of a throw of the dice. That is a theroy anyway...I felt that lowest is best reguardless. I'm rather scared, and worried and hope that my little one does fine. My clinic doc. and clinic nurses seem to think that the baby will be just fine, concidering my low dose, I eat healthy, and am overall pretty healthy myself. I hope they are right. Mara
Mara, at this point, put your trust in your docs, and have faith. As someone here once told me, *Let go and Let God*. You are doing everything you can to be - and stay - healthy, and the health of your unborn baby has obviously been at the top of your list throughout your entire pregnancy. You are entering the home stretch now....remember this: *Good things come to those who wait*. I hope you post more often and let us know how things are going!! And KUDOS to you -- you've done a remarkable thing and should be very proud of yourself!!!!
Congrats, Mara!!! I agree with Karen, you are doing fine by following doctor's orders. Even in worst case scenario, it's better for the baby that you not rush your taper now. Good luck, sweetie, you'll both do great!
I also agree! Congratulations!
Another one that agrees... You are doing what your doctors order, the rest is in the hands of a higher power.. You and your bean are in my thoughts.. Please keep us posted and I can't wait to see pictures. Extremely proud of you...
I'm glad things are going well so far. Just follow the doctor's orders.
I am just so proud of you!
