Desprirate need of ideas!!!
Alexis (14) got the okay to run for Student Council President today and the elections are on Monday. She wanted to give out gum because "Gum will buy you anything in middle school", but the principal said NO food/candy/gum can be handed out for elections. Well the turn around on this election is REALLY fast. They found out yesterday who was qualified to run and they actually vote on Monday! I need a quick cheap cool idea for something she can give out. There are over 1500 kids in her school (6-8) and I don't expect to give out stuff to all of them but would like to probably do around 600 of something.. I was thinking about Mardi Gras Beads with a little note/stick attached that says VOTE for ALEXIS for Student Council President. Does that sound too cheesy or like it might get made fun of? She should win since she is the only one with any experience that is running, but who knows with how flaky middle school kids are. I am expecting to spend at least 100 on this probably more not including paper and ink. Alexis deserves this. She has worked so hard to be able to do this, and she is good at this type of thing.
Oh gosh, I remember last year one of my daughters friends was running for president and she passed something out that all the kids loved and wanted to vote for her based on that. I will find out when she gets home. I know all the kids had gotten together and the mom bought them all cheap shirts. They all painted them with "Vote For Alexis" and wore them on election day. So all the "cool" kids were wearing these shirts and it must of worked, the girl was president last year!
what about pencils with pencil sharpeners, you could make a paper sleeve for them and have it say something like, "Sharpen up our Student Council by voting Alexis for President" You could do markers that say, "Help Alexis make a mark on the student council, vote her Student Council President." Is there a vending machine? hand out baggies of change with, "Make sure _____(name of school) has change in the bag...vote Alexis Student Council President" I am sorry, I know those are cheesy.
