I'm "Going Green!" and then some

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive September 2008: I'm "Going Green!" and then some
By Dana on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 - 09:00 pm:

I've been researching "going green" products and decided to make some changes at home. Along with the decision, I signed up for a work from home program. Let me tell you, I am excited and very nervous about that part.

Has anyone else gone green? To what extent? Do you notice a difference, or is it just a mental thing knowing your are doing what is best?

I get my first shipment in a few days to try everything out. And the plan is if I really like it, I'm going to let others know about it and of course they would want the products also (hince the work from home part). We'll see.

I called them several times with questions about ordering and "taking the plunge" all sorts of stuff, but decided tonight to try it out. I was even really happy when I was told, don't forget if you want to pull out, you just need to say so and you get a refund. I figured a refund on unused products, but they even do open products too! The person I was talking to knew how nervous I was about signing on for the "work at home" part and not just being a standard customer.

Would any of you be interested in checking the company out with me and giving me your opionions? They do webcast to talk about their products and such. I like what I saw and am excited about their stuff.

I only made my first order a couple hours ago, so I don't even know when the webcasts are. But if you are interested in checking it out and letting me know what you think either email or let me know here. I've always trusted the opinions from our MV group. I always come here when I have a big decision in my life.

I'll figure out the webcast thing and let you know. I'd really appreciate your thoughts. And if you are already green, I'd love to learn more about how it is working for you.

Also, once I get my products I'll let you know what I think. I am really excited about the green laundry detergent line and house cleaning line. I was told it makes everything smell really fresh. I love my full of chemical smell cleaning products, so we will see. But my kids have terrible allergies, and my hubby started breaking out in a rash after using a deoderant (that he only used once) and it has just never gone away and it is in other areas now. We didn't switch soaps or anything, but still the problem. I have tried switching some stuff or using less, but no help. That's why I started looking at going green.

I bought their first time package that gives you lots of stuff I may not have bought other wise, just to see how it is. I hope I don't miss getting rid of my The Works, Gain, Dawn, Fabulosa and Swavitel...all really strong chemical stuff with lots of smell good added :)

Anyway, I just wanted to share and I will keep you posted on how my big change works.

You go, Girl! lol I've thought about going green. I guess I like convenience, though. The thought of getting rid of all my chemical cleaners and buying all new stuff? YIKES! I'd have to do it slowly. You can email me and I'd be happy to give you my thoughts. :) cathy liz at com cast dot net

I am not sure but I think by reading your post "going green" is a product line? I personally would not be interested in this. It is very easy to make "green" cleansers at home using things like baking soda and vinegar. I can also buy green cleaners pretty much anywhere around here. I know this sounds like a negative, but I am just trying to give you an honest opinion and I do hope this works out well for you.

Your post kind of reminds me of either Melaleuca or Arbonne products.

Personally, I stick with the cheaper "green" stuff from the stores. So many big companies have "green" lines of products for cheaper than other places specifically dedicated to that line of sales.

Good luck though. I have a few green products but I can't seem to let go of a few either so i'm in between. :)

I guess it would depend on the price of the products (and of course how well they worked). As others have said, it is easy to make some of your own cleaners that are "green" and they are also becoming easier to get at the stores. There are a couple that I already use, but have some regular favorites that I just can't find anything green that works as well.

Vicki, that is what I am thinking "will it work as well?" I mean Grease Lightning is awesome stuff. I want to die when I spray it but I love how it cuts thru stuff.

Mrs B, yes, along those lines. This is all new to me, and my own home made products just don't work the way I think they should. I use vinegar for a lot of cleaning type things for example. I'm hoping it will give a bit more punch to the power. Also, since I quit working, and they offer referal programs I figured I might make some money purchasing items I would purchase anyway.

I appreciate the comments from everyone. Cat, I'll email you, and thanks for offering your time to check it out with me. I'm thinking about doing Thurs at 8pm. I'm going to have my sisters take a look at that time if it works for them. I'll find out later today. Vicki, and anyone else who is just curious, let me know. It is like a chat room, and you just log in and sit there and listen as they talk and do a slide show. You don't have to have any intent on becoming a customer or anything.

Again, thanks everyone. I'll keep you updated on how I like it and if I see any changes in allergy related symptoms. I plan on using some of their health line products too. I've got arthritis and just bought a 1 month supply of Osteo Byplex for about $35! I about died when I saw the price. They offer similar for $11 for a month supply. If it works, I'll probably stay just for that one product alone. I'm wanting to get back on my Omega 3 too. I stopped when I got pregnant and did the prenatals...then just never went back. I loved how I felt with Omega 3.

I sure hope this offers me the motivation I need to get up, get organized, get focused, get healthy, and loose the pounds that just keep coming. That is how it was 4 years ago when I joined a fitness plan. Just having a goal changed my life from the inside out.
