We are going for a week next month. It sounds great, but I don't know anyone who has actually been there. What can we expect?

Thank Karen. It's a barrier island south of Charleston

Yes- yes me me! We vacation there every year. For the past 40 years. There are a few resturants, but we catch our own fish and we usually cook everynight. It is not Myrtle Beach or Gulf Shores. It's quiet. We love it, but not everyone does. Do you know where you are staying? We get a house on the beach. This year was a total treat, we went to an island- the name escapes me now- across from Fort Sumter and found HUGE sharks teeth. It was so fun. Then we went to Morgan Island off Edisto, but we did not see the monkeys this year. Evidentally they had just been harvested.

I hope you love it as much as we do.

We'll be at the Wyndham Ocean Ridge Time Share Complex. Can you bike on the trails?

Sounds fun, but I've never been to South Carolina!

The only place on the east coast that I've been to is the Washington DC/Alexandria, VA area.

I went to Myrtle Beach, SC often as a kid. LOVE the SC coastline.

Bea, from what I just saw online, Edisto Beach is somewhat like Cape San Blas, in FL. Cape San Blas was on a peninsula off of Port St. Joe on the south end of the peninsula - The St. Joseph State Park was the north end. It was just beach house/homes/rentals....no amusements, high rises, a few activities, but mostly a place to just relax and enjoy the beach. There, you actually have to drive a good 20 minutes to a restaurant.

Edisto looks to be a little more built up than Cape San Blas - looks like a GREAT place to vacation!!! I look forward to hearing about your trip.
