Conni - Lakes in Arkansas
We are already thinking of our vacation for next summer. We had such a great time at the lake this year, that we want to go back. We are thinking of going to Arkansas. I know you go to the lake a lot. Is there one around you that you would recommend? A place to stay, either cabins or hotel on the lake??
Debbie, we went to degray lake in arkansas. It was probably my very favorite family vacation. They had lots of park programs and such. It was outside of hotsprings so we took a couple of days and went into town, there is a small amusement park, but we did a bath house tour too. We didn't stay at the state park, but at some condo/cabin things on the other side of the lake.
Here's the thing...I don't really get out much in Arkansas. ha Kind of sad. I can tell you some condos in Destin, Fl?? haha Lake Ouachita: near Hot Springs. I have never been to this lake. I have been told it is the most beautiful lake in Arkansas though. It is also the largest. I have to go to Little Rock soon and thought about staying in Hot Springs for the weekend with the boys and checking out that lake while there. Hot Springs is a cute little town. Beaver Lake: It's a nice lake. (clear water lake) We usually go to the Lost Bridge South/Lost Bridge North/Dam Site parts of the lake. Look up the Whispering Hills Cabins. I think they are new and nice. I haven't personally stayed in any of them. We live here so do day trips, camp, or for the last 10.5 yrs have stayed at dh's cabin. So, I have never had to rent a place to stay out there. Before I met dh, I dated a guy that had a 3 story gorgeous house on the water out there, with a hot tub. I am not sure what I was thinking when I broke up with him? ha Table Rock Lake: it's in Missouri, near Branson. Suppose to be great too. Of course, the Branson area is fun. Sorry, I am not much help am I?? I love Beaver Lake, but I have been going there since I was a child. I need to take my kids to Lake Ouachita and expose them to something new in our state. They also need to see Petit Jean State Park and canoe the Buffalo River one of these days... Let me know what you decide.
LOL Conni. I found a resort on Lake Ouachita that lookded really nice. It is nice to hear that the Lake is so pretty. They have a lodge and cabins. Kaye, I will have to check out Degray Lake too.
http://www.iron-mountain.com/ this is where we stayed. We had 2, three bed 3 bath places, they were seperate from the rest. Each of these has a huge deck with a large hot tub in back. Our kids used it like a pool. It was really really nice.
Debbie, which resort are you checking out at Lake Ouachita?
It is called Mountain Harbor Resort. It is owned by the same people that own the one that Kaye stayed out. We are going to try and get one of their cabins.
