Today my "baby" started pre-k. I've had a little one home with me since I was 18, mixed emotions of course. We had orientation the other day and I couldn't get her to go into the classroom. She kept saying she just wanted to stay a baby, so pitiful. Today I was prepared for tears and a fight. A little girl came with the same back pack and the rest is history Her teacher said she was ready for the tears as well and said she did great and made herself at home right away. She won't admit she likes school but you can tell she does.

Ohhhh, Rayelle! That's awesome! It's so good when they like school, but it is bittersweet for us!

We were prepared for the worst last year because my DD's SECOND day of pre-school was horrendous! I sat in the parking lot listening to her scream and cry and yell "I'm sorry!" Like my leaving her there was a punishment!!! But, kindergarten came and she marched in there like a seasoned trooper!!! I'll tell ya, my DD has been in three different schools between kindergarten and summer school and she's loved going every single day! We've NEVER had a repeat of the crying!

They really are wonderful, complex, beautiful and inspiring little creatures! Gotta love them! AND just think of the time you'll have for yourself!
