After school care rates
I'm thinking of watching (2) 11 yr. old twins. It would be 3 days a week, from 2-7 pm. I'm not sure what I should charge them. Also they need to be watched on Saturday's from 7:30am-7pm. Anyone have any idea's on rates? I would have to pick them up from school the days during the week. If anyone could help I would be grateful.
I charged $30.00 per day to pick up 2 kids from school. I had them until 5:30 so less hours. On regular (whole) days I charged $20 per child/per day
My hourly rate is $6 an hour, so for the weekdays that family would be looking at $30 per child. I'd probably cut them a little break and make it $50 for each weekday. My weekend rates are high because I don't like to work weekends, but if I choose to I want it to be worth it. For an almost 12 hour day it'd be $40-$50 per child (again, you can cut them a break if you want). Right now I have kids from 6:30am-5pm Mon-Fri so I'm not working nights and weekends. I have in the past, though. Shoot, starting next month I'll have a little girl coming at 5:15am (her mom's a bus driver for the local high school--she actually drives right by my house and if things stay the same next year my youngest will be on her bus!)). You do have to remember rates are regional. I'm in Colorado near Colorado Springs. Even just in the Springs and surrounding towns rates range from $85-$200 a week depending on what part of town you're in. It's nice to "meet" you and have another family child care provider on the board.
I know that my old after school program through the school was open until 6:30 and it was $30 a child per week for 1-3 days a week and $50 a week per child for 4 or 5 days. I have no clue on the weekend.. And as Cat said it is regional and I am in TX near Dallas.
