Yeah, gas prices again
Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Yeah, gas prices again
Just curious, since prices have been creeping down, here in WI. I paid $43.18 to fill up my tank tonight. $3.77/gallon for 11.42 gallons. I forgot to look what diesel was, though. It had been up as high as $4.15/gallon about a month ago. I know one day, I only put in $45 worth and just stopped there. It was nearly full, though. Tonight, I let it fill until it clicked off and it wasn't $45. However, it used to be about $25. So, should we be thankful for small favors? $3.77 is the cheapest I've seen it around our place. Most places are still $3.79. Milwaukee today was $3.95 and $3.99, but they are often a little more than we are. Edited to add: Emily just told me that diesel was $4.49/gallon. That's come down in price, too.
We are down now, from just @ $4.00 per gallon to around $3.73. That said, $3.73 is NOT cheap gas, but it WILL save a few bucks on a tank of gas. What has REALLY hit us hard - and is apparently going to get much worse before it gets better - is the fuel adjustment charge on the electric bill. I was SHOCKED when mine came yesterday! It was the highest one I've had in years - since we put our new double paned/double insulated windows in - and we actually used less energy. The fuel adjustment was 1.5 times the actual electric bill!
Ouch!
Wow Karen, that's crazy! Our gas is now at 3.62. Cheapest it has been in forever! Mom and dad are visiting in NC right now and said it is 3.55! Wow! Hope it keeps creeping down, but I'm certainly not holding my breath!
Oh Karen, that is just the pits. Imagine if you hadn't used less energy? Gas here in the Westchester/Putnam/Dutchess, NY is $4.08 - $4.20 something for regular, depending on where you are. I have not seen anything below $4.00 a gallon for regular in a long, long time. Heating oil has gone down though. I was going to order oil about two weeks ago and just got too busy. Finally, I got around to it and the price was $3.95 a gallon, as opposed to $4.60 (where it was when I had planned to order it), so at least we saved there. Our new house has just had the power switched over to the new electircal box - can't wait to see that bill ... Ame
We were at 4.09 the last week in July. Back at 3.79 now. I remember when we used to fill up for like a dollar.
We went to NH last week and the cheapest we saw was $3.76 Here in New Brunswick it is $1.28/litre which works out to roughly $5.12 gallon...be thankful you're not paying that!
My price is the same as Paula's. It takes me over $100 to fill my van, which really SUCKS!!
Wow, guess I shouldn't complain about $3.74 anymore. Karen, my last electric bill was MUCH higher, I'm going to see if that charge is the reaon why... I just figured it was because it has been in the upper 90's -100's lately.
Electric Bill: Energy Charge: $99.81 FUEL ADJUSTMENT(!): $159.48 LURC Hurricane Charge $7.97 Ridiculous!
$3.57 just north of Boston... I can't believe I'm happy about $3.57/gallon!!!
hmmm, I just looked at mine and it seems to be the case too.
Down to $3.75 at my local gas station. Last month $4.23 was a "bargain".
Here in CT regular was up to $4.45 last month. It's now down to $4.09. I did see it for $3.99 some where while out and about. Diesel is currently $4.99.
Paula, and Marcia, OUCH to you, too! It was about .97/liter, when we were there three years ago! Wow, Karen, that's a lot of money!
I saw 3.69 at the ma/nh border yesterday.
$3.69 in the state capitol of Madison! Darn it. I wish we could get Madison's prices in Sheboygan! We saw diesel as cheap as $4.24/gal in one place! Wow.
It is $3.75 here and we are thrilled with that, seeing how it was I believe $4.30 at one point!! I remember leaving California when dh retired from military thinking we wouldn't have to pay that $1.89 anymore in San Diego, that was in 2003, wish it was that price now!!!
Here in Va Beach, the lowest I have seen it was $3.61
We're at $3.59 in md. I got a fill up at Giant with my gas points so I got it for $2.49. Wish it was like that everytime. Well, while I'm wishing I wish it was back to like $1!
$2.49 at the gas station I pass on the way home from work (but I paid $2.69 there last Friday - darn it); $2.63 at a station closer to my house; and Scott paid $2.44 at a station near his school last Friday. What a difference a few months - and an international financial/economic crisis makes. I feel really sorry for people who heat with oil and locked themselves into heating-season contracts last month, because prices have dropped so much and in many contracts they are locked into the higher prices.
I believe ours is $2.88 right now. I haven't filled up for a few days. It cost me $34 to fill up my tank the other night. It was halfway between 1/4 and empty.
Today the price was $2.53 up the road from me, and was $2.55 just the day before. I put in $30 today and ALMOST got 3/4 tank. I am so glad the prices are coming down, but expect them to go up as they always do each winter. Ginny, you are so right about those locked into heating contracts! OUCH. I wonder if there is any recourse for them?
$2.29 here is Ofallon, Illinois, Sam's has the cheapest gas, it is great!
Paid 2.19 today!! They showed a clip of another city in Ohio that it was 1.97. Hope that creeps here soon!
$2.39 a gallon here, today. $3.49 for diesel.
In town: $2.59 for gas $3.29 for diesel DH saw a gas station about 15 miles away, that had $2.49. The last time I filled up, I bought 9.9 gallons for $27 something!
$2.35 at Costco here. I got it at Safeway last week using Safeway rewards (get 10 cent off per gallon for filling rx's) and ended up paying $2.29 a gallon.
$2.23 here! We're so excited!!
$2.18 here today!!!! I filled up for under $35
LOL.. one of my friends dhs called her today and told her that he just filled up for 1.83.. yes that is right.. under $2.. amazing.. but yes diesel is still as expensive as ever.. can't figure that out...
$2.51 at Walmart up the street yesterday afternoon, and LITERALLY less than an hour later, it was $2.48. I'm stoked, with a 25 gallon tank and 12 MPG, I needed this. I'm on dead E right now, and will fill up later today, but when it peaked it cost me about $90 to fill my tank, and this will be so much better!
I saw it for $2.29 here in Virginia yesterday!
I saw it it for $2.20 in Va Beach yesterday
We are going down quickly, and I am hoping to see it below the $3.00 mark in the next few days. Woo Hoo!
Here in Oklahoma it is 1.99 to 2.11 I always pay a little more because I get the ethenol free gas. I get way better milage if I do and my vehical is older so it not good on older vehicals. I hope it keeps coming down.
Cheapest around here right now is around $2.34 a gallon..... The last time I filled up was Oct. 10 (before surgery) and jumped at the chance to pay $3.49 a gallon - that's how much it's gone down in 3 weeks here!
This morning: $2.39 for gas $3.09 for diesel How long do you think this is going to last? Hubby put in $20.00 worth this morning, into his Saturn and it gave him 3/4 of a tank. Payday is tomorrow, so he didn't want to fill all the way up.
Up the street from me , about 10 minutes away, it is $2.03 for regular gas My brother in law called from Cincinnati. He had just filled up his Mini Cooper for just $26.00. It was $1.99 per gal. and that was the premium gas!! And I filled up my minivan the other day for $46.00! ugh. I'm glad to see it going down, although i don't think it will last.
$2.25 here in Indiana. It hasn't been at $3+ for a while now. Yay!!
Here it was at 1.09 per litre which is $4.36 a gallon. However a few weeks ago it was at around 1.55 litre making for a whopping 6.00 per gallon! The most I've paid so far to fill my car is $57 for 45 litres (11.25 gallons). I have a gas discount card though that gives me .20 off per/litre. p.s. that's for regular not premium
Our closest station is at $2.31 a gallon! I'm really excited about that and hope it goes down some more!
The lowest I had seen it until yesterday was $2.88. My boys had their football games yesterday. The field is located right across from Costco. We were there for six hours and during that entire time, there were huge lines at the pump. Although my tank was full, I had to know what they were selling it for. My jaw hit the ground when I finally saw: $2.43!! WOW!
I just saw it for $1.99 this morning
I think we are at $2.63 here on base. It could have changed again thought I am not sure.
