Anybody Have a Ford Fusion??
I am looking at the Fusions now. I drive a 2002 Ford Taurus (we are a Ford family) that I bought brand new in 2002. It has been a wonderful car. It now has 122,000 miles on it, and I drive it everyday to work, 50 miles round trip. My DS Shawn will be getting his drivers license soon and we are looking for a used car for him. There is nothing out there for the money that he has to spend, and we don't want him to take a loan because his car insurance will be high in the beginning. He works locally, so I was thinking of buying a new car and letting him have my Taurus. At least we KNOW what he is getting with that. I would get the 6 cylinder Fusion because it has the same Duratec engine as my Taurus, and I want the extra power. There is a Ford dealer near the hospital where I work, so I see a lot of them around town. Does anyone have a new Fusion, and if so, how do you like it? Any problems? I've gotten a good price quote from the dealer, so I have to decide soon.
My hairdresser drives one. She seems to like it/no problems with it.....
I'd like to have one! LOL! No experience, though. For the moment, I love my 1998 Ford Taurus.
I have a Ford Mustang, and to be honest with you, I kind of wish we had gone for a really nice fusion instead. If I can get out of my Mustang, I am seriously considering getting a fusion.
Thank you all. Dawn, my DS Mike has a 1999 Taurus that he bought from a young college girl who was buying a brand new Toyota Corolla. She had driven the Taurus all through high school with no problems, AND it had been in a front end wreck before SHE bought it. They are great cars. I am so torn. On the one hand, I am so loving not having car payments right now (DH paid off his truck a few months ago). I also love my car. I talk to "her" and thank "her" for protecting me in all kinds of weather. (I say that it is a "her" because she has been so reliable. LOL!) It would kill me if Shawn trashed it. On the other hand, I was quoted a good price for the Fusion, and I would bargain him down even more. Car dealers are starving right now, so if you walk out, they WILL call you back. I will need a new car eventually. This way, everybody wins. I just wondered if anybody had had any BAD experiences with them.
I love my Taurus. I love how solid it feels and how solid the doors sound, when they close, too. It decided it hadn't gotten enough attention lately and earned it's way to the garage for a new fuel pump! Ouch! Had been acting a little dicey, for a few weeks and ended up dying, in the driveway, the other day. It's all good now. I'll be sad, when it's time to give it up. DH will probably want something a little more fuel efficient, when it's time for a different car.
