Youngest ds at ER, ??? broken wrist
Dh just took ds to the ER a little while ago. I am at home with older ds and a friend's son who is staying the weekend with us. My ds and friend's son collided while playing baseball, and I think ds broke his wrist/arm?? Right before school was out oldest ds fractured his wrist, now with 2 weeks left of summer, it looks like we might have another fractured/broken wrist. Ds never cries, and he was bawling, his wrist swelled up really quick, and the bone on the outside of his wrist was protruding a lot more. Yikes!
Sounds like a good idea to take him to the ER! Poor guy.
Good news! It is not broken, there is a slight sprain, and he bruised the bone. It is all wrapped up, and they gave him something for the pain. I am going to get him ready for bed now.
I'm glad it's not broken!
Glad it's not broken. You and he do need to take it seriously, though, for the next several days. I would seriously consider getting a sling or rigging a sling for him so that he is reminded to not try to use that hand. And, of course, I'm sure the ER told you to take him to his own doctor or maybe an orthopedic doctor for followup.
Ginny, his arm is wrapped and in a sling. It is bruised this morning, and still slightly swollen...not near as bad as last night. We were told to follow up with his regular doctor in a few weeks before school starts. Oh...the ER on a Saturday night. Ds had to tell me all about the drunk that stumbled in with blood all over his face. He fell down in the middle of the floor and then proceded to throw up all over the place! The ER was great with ds, and immediately put him and dh in a room when this happened. Ds was the only child in the ER. Dh thinks it helped them get out of there faster.
