Wow
I just realized my kids start school two weeks from today! I, of course, am having mixed emotions about it. Yes, it'll be nice to have my house back and not have my kids messing up the daycare schedule, but on the other hand I like having them home. It's really nice not having to deal with the school schedule and everything involved with that. Oh well. Nothing I can do. I guess I should start getting school supplies together, huh.
Wow, that is early. My kids start the day after Labor Day. I think we still have a little over 4 weeks. I have started buying school supplies already, I have most of it done. My son starts highschool in Sept, and he doesnt have a supply list yet.
My kids start after Labor Day, too. Emily starts her junior year of high school on Tues. Sept 4th and Sarah starts her second year of college on Sept. 5th.
The kids start the 18th...I go back the Aug 25. ugh! We rcv'd the letter from Blakes school last with Blakes school supply list, etc... I was not ready to see that!!! lol
Kaitlyn starts school a month from Friday. I'm actually excited because I have more of a routine when she's in school. It will also give me that much needed alone time with Nathan to start working on colors, numbers and things like that. Kaitlyn enjoys always giving him the answer. LOL I'm excited to take her school shopping at the beginning of the month. My favorite thing as a child was shopping for school clothes and supplies (probably because that was the ONLY time I got new clothes!) so I can't wait to take Kaitlyn. She loves clothes shopping.
Mine start back on the 13th of August, I am not, repeat not ready for it. I go back the 7th, I am not looking forward to that either.
the 25th of Aug. can't come soon enough for me.. Doesn't that sound horrible? I just feel a lot better about things when the girls are at school all day when I am at work.. No worrying about what I am going to come home to like a house burning down. :P I am not ready to dish out all the money that I know I am going to have to.. Alexis has grown about 3-4 inches this summer (she is now over 5'6) and none of her jeans fit anymore and most of her shoes are too small not to mention most of her shirts are getting too small too. I am sure that means that socks and all the other under stuff is going to have to be replaced too.. I am waiting until the last minute to buy stuff so if she grows more it will still fit for a little while when she starts school. AHHHH.. she is doing what I did when I was her age and growing too much at once.. I grew 6 in in 4 months.. My mom couldn't keep me in jeans..
Mine start in a little over two weeks and I am looking forward to it. They have been fighting a lot lately which is driving me crazy! I have most of the supplies purchased, but I still need to buy dd some new shorts because she shot up this summer and her shorts are too short for school now. She's a 12 in the waist, but a 14 in length so I'm not sure what I'm going to find for her to wear that it long enough, but won't fall off. Jeans can wait until mid October when it starts to cool off a little.
Mine start on Aug. 20th......nooooo I love summer. We are having such a great time! We are at the lake now! It is raining today because of the hurricane. We have had so much fun boating, tubing, and swimming. I just love the freedom of summer. My boys don't fight much, so I don't have to deal with that. I just feel like I never see them during the school year. I miss them!
Debbie-I agree with you. I love the freedom of summer as well. When I was younger I loved Summer, even as an adult with kids, I still love it. I actually get sad when summer ends and school starts. My older 2 kids fight(argue), although its getting better.. I still miss them all when they are in school. Its fun and carefree to have them all at home and no real schedule. Its nice to just pick up and say "We are going to the pool today" , and out the door we go... I wish summer lasted forever LOL
Dd starts on August 25th and I am not looking forward to it. LOL I just LOVE the freedom of summer! She needs a LOT of new clothes for school this year. It isn't that she grew taller so much as she is starting to change shape and get a little more curves. Things are getting to tight on her through the hips now. That is a GOOD thing believe it or not! LOL She is so tall and skinny she is really hard to buy pants for! It will be nice for her to have some hips to help hold the pants up. LOL We started shopping about a month ago since she can be so hard to fit. We won't even buy long pants/jeans until about mid September. She needs at least 3 more shorts, capris or bermuda shorts though and a few tops.... argh, forgot about tennis shoes too... and all the school supplies....
o
I love the freedom of summer, too. I like not having to get up at 6:30am, every morning! We need to go school shopping, too. In high school, there are always some school supplies you find out about, after school starts, but we stock up on the basics: notebooks, folders, looseleaf paper, pencils, pens, etc., before school starts.
We start back on Aug 4th. What a short summer!!
We ALL go back the 25th, me, dh and the kids. Dh and I are looking into taking online classes this semester because of his work schedule and my youngest will be in afternoon pre-k so that is a trip right smack in the middle of the day that eliminates afternoon classes for me. Actually, my pre-k dd starts the 27th. For the first time in ten years I will not have a baby home with me full time. It's bittersweet and I expect I'll be a basketcase her first day.
mine go back on aug.13th...
25th of August for us too! I don't know where this summer went. In a way I kinda can't wait beacause then we will only have 10 days until dh comes home on R&R. But part of me wants the summer time to hang around a little longer because I'm enjoying having the kids home.
Ilovetom, your kids will have fun, at college! Part of me wishes I could go, too! I know it's a bittersweet moment, though.
