She will be driving soon...UGGH Where did the time go?
Hi Everyone, Life has been hectic so I have had limited time to post but I do miss everyone here at Momsview! I thought I would share with everyone that my daughter will be able to drive soon! LOL She passed her drivers ed online and is now looking into the 6-hour driving course that she needs to take. This is all so new to me. Me and DH have talked about what type of vehicle she needs etc.. We are so up in the air. I would love to hear what other people have done. I offered to buy my daughter and inexpensive new car if she pays insurance and gas, but she said she would prefer my husbands truck. I'm not sure hubbys ready to give up his vehicle quite yet..LOL I would love input from moms that have already gone through this. TIA
Make sure she knows how to drive. My now 17 year old took a driving course through school but I could never drive with her, she made me nervous. Easily done...she has been in three fender benders and lost her insurance. Now I have to drive her to and from work, which is about 20 minutes away. My second dd will be able to get her permit in Jan....ughghghghhgh I want them to be toddlers again
Congrats to your dd for passing the course! How exciting. Oldest ds turned 16 last month and has his drivers license now!!!! Yuck and YEA! All at the same time. He is driving a truck temporarily. I told ex for a YEAR to plan on our boys getting little old cars to drive. Ex had it stuck in his head they would get trucks to drive (he is very hard headed). Well, when he went to get insurance for our teenage son and was quoted the price...heh heh heh...EX nearly had a myocardial infarction. He then called me and said " We are going to have to find the boys CARS to drive." I said, " What a GREAT idea, if only I had thought of that... " hahaha We will spend $2000-$3000 on an old car for each of them. They are boys, so it is very important to ex and I they learn how to work on their cars. (thus the OLD cars that need work) Cheaper insurance, cheaper gas, maintenance less expensive. Ex is giving them $1000, I'm giving them $1000 and they have to come up with $500-$1000 on their own... I wish I could go out and buy them a nice vehicle, but that is not our reality. Brandon almost has $1000 saved. He is going to help pay part of his insurance and gas too (he has a part time job on a horse farm). I am VERY proud of him.
