What are your weekend plans?
It's fun to see what people do in their free time. ;) Tonight we are having a potluck dinner with our neighbors. It sounds yummy but we both didn't feel like cooking and this was our easy way out. LOL We're making a Rachael Ray recipe of bite sized chicken pieces fried in pancake batter and Frank's Red Hot sauce. Tomorrow night were going to watch a friend race his drag bike down at the Barona Speedway. Sunday, nothing. A nice relaxing day hopefully.
Nothing planned here. Kids are going to their dad's and I only have to drive K to work, Sat and Sunday. Might go to neighbor's house tomorrow evening for a get-together but nothing is written in stone. Might treat myself to a pedicure since I won't have the girls. It's always cheaper that way LOL
Sounds you are going to have a fun weekend. Mine is pretty boring with no chance to sleep in. Tonight cleaning and getting ready for a family birthday party. Plus shopping for the party. Saturday - DS plays in a basketball tournament and has games at 8, 10, and 12. In the afternoon, we'll be going swimming at an area waterpark. Sunday - Cleaning and hosting birthday party/cookout. And going to DS's basketball games at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.
This evening we will continue to pack, fun fun.... Tomorrow morning going to the new place to measure for blinds and see the progress made. Sunday church and that's pretty much it! All this is as long as my nephew stays in place and doesn't make his debut!
Hmm... well today is DH's birthday so we are having a "nerdfest" for him tomorrow afternoon/night. A bunch of his/our friends are all bringing their computers over and we are going to play video games over the network.. Should be fun.. but I have to clean tonight and Sunday when it is all over.
not doing much really probably working all three days = ( and going to a birthday party for my niece that will be one on the 20th of this month 1 already wowsers...this will happen on sunday the 13th since my other sister in law will be out of town on the 20th when it was originally scheduled for.
LOL, Tarable. That sounds like something my brother would enjoy doing. DH is currently celebrating his "anniversary" (8 years in the military) by taking a test! Poor guy has been studying nonstop all week. I love the guy with all my heart but he is just NOT book smart at all! His test has to do with machine gun knowledge and that's generally second nature to him so hopefully he does good. He's a bad test taker.
We have nothing much planned. There is a dinner thing, for the VW club, that DH belongs to. On Sunday, we are installing the new pastor and having a potluck. DH is also going to fix something on his sister's computer. So, maybe just hanging out.
Dh plays tonight (he's in a band) but he doesn't play or wrestle this weekend. I get to go hear him tonight, hopefully someone I know will show up. Tomorrow I'm doing my usual- hitting the yard sales. I'm going to try to talk dh into helping me with some things in the yard. I've been doing as much as I can since he's working so much but there's some things I'm not strong enough for. Sunday my usual is cutting coupons! I sound like a total penny pinching dork with the yard sales and coupons but I LOVE it!!!
We are going into Newburyport, Ma for a free outdoor concert w/Blind Melon and a few other bands. My oldest is working, and my ds is going to my mother's for the weekend, so it will just be dh, me and our youngest dd. We might meet up with some friends there. and I am weeding the garden - how exciting!
Every time I hear Blind Melon's name I think about their video "No Rain" with the girl in the bumble bee outfit! LOL
Well, we are headed out to car shop a little tonight. Tomorrow might be more shoppping..LOL. We also will probably spend some time at dave and busters. We are down to one kid, so we are trying to have as much "fun" as we can stand with him. I am really not used to entertaining children!
I know Melissa, I do too. I think that was the singer's little sister, but he od'd and now they have a new singer. Should be fun.
My brother and SIL are bringing my 6 wk old nephew to visit. We haven't seen him yet, so we are VERY excited. I am making lasagna, their favorite dinner. Tomorrow they are spending time with my SIL's grandmother, so dh, the kids, and I will probably hit the pool in the afternoon. Then we will hang out with them tomorrow night. I have offered to watch my nephew, so they can go out to dinner or a movie. Sunday they leave, and I will start getting ready for our vacation. We leave on Wednesday morning, and will be gone for almost 2 weeks.
Tonight I hope to have some time with dh and watch a movie. He's been working late all week. The boys will be taking a bath. They've been fighting me on that one for a couple of days now. I know, eww. Tomorrow, I get to go see Wicked, the musical at the Pantages theatre so that means a trip to the in-laws. They live closer to the city. The boys will spend time with their grandparents while mommy and daddy have a night out. We will probably come back Sunday night. I'm not sure.
Well, yard sales tomorrow, one of my favorite pastimes. Then on Sunday there is the Catsup bottle festival in Collinsville that looks pretty interesting! Antique car show, hot dog eating contests, for kids there is the Princess Tomato and Sir Catsup contest. Food, games and other events it should be fun!
Today we went to Milwaukee to meet a friend from another board I am on. She and her DH live in TX, but were in Michigan for their anniversary and were flying out of Milwaukee. On the way to Milwaukee we stopped at Cabela's for awhile, then we enjoyed the performers and food at Bastille Days before eating at the Safe House for dinner with our new friends. Tomorrow we are just hanging out at home---a little house cleaning, grocery shopping, DH has to run 12 miles, the boys have to do some yardwork. Then on Sunday part of our launch team for the church plant will be coming over for lunch. That's it unless we find something else exciting to do. We have a pretty busy summer on tap, so I think we'll just lay low.
Pam, I've been to the Safe House, but way back when I was in college! It's still there? How cool! I remember drinking a Spy's Demise, that came with lit sparklers! LOL! Safe House Milwaukee\ I hadn't thought about that restaurant in a LONG time!
Since it's to be in the high 90's here and humidity is *very* high right now, we will be INSIDE! (PAMT - don't you miss the Louisiana summers?!? NOT!) We have *paperwork* type things to do, so this is a good weekend for it. Picking Jen up from the airport in the AM..... Laundry - after dark, when it cools down..... Weird, boring weekend for us...
Karen, I don't miss Louisiana summers, springs, falls, or winters one bit! The ONLY things I miss about Louisiana are the food and our friends/neighbors. We all love Wisconsin so much. I have lived in 6 states and it is by far my favorite. It is currently 66 with a high of 79 today. Summer is beautiful and temperate with tons of outdoor activities. The minute it hits 50 degrees in the spring EVERYONE is outside biking, walking, jogging, fishing, canoeing, and kayaking. Just fabulous! Of course, I'm weird and even loved the winter here too. Dawn, The Spy House was cool, but it needs to be updated. We also wanted to exit using the secret escape through the phone booth, but we couldn't figure it out. Cool concept though and I really like Milwaukee.
I'm going to suntan once our yard is completed. This is the first weekend I don't have to do anything. I've been doing laundry and cleaning all week in the evenings after work to "earn" a day laying in the sun with a book! I do have to take my new car to be detailed today but that's it.
This weekend, I need to create 12 new necklaces for a store that is going to carry them (trial basis). Wish me luck. If they sell, they will carry more of my work. I hate running the kiln when it is above 90 degrees here but oh well.... Plan on having a BBQ and swimming later on to cool off.
Friday night we spent looking at homes. Today we put an offer on a house, ran some errands, and saw Wall-E. DH and I are looking forward to an relaxing evening. Tomorrow we are staying HOME! All we do these days is drive and GO with the impending move, looking for a house, and DH's commute. We're going to try to enjoy our last weeks in this house by BEING here!
Well...I ended up weeding and doing yard work, washing my new car and enjoying some relaxing time in the sun. Tonight we're going out to see a movie (Wanted)and for dinner! Woohoo!
Went with hubby to a meeting of the Volkswagen of America Club. WE got to eat supper and then they had their business meeting. DH soooo owes me now and he knows it, too! LOL!
I took my dd to work. I mowed the front yard before it rained...I about died in the heat. I gave my pappillion a haircut, vacuumed, napped, then I picked up dd from work. Now I can relax before bed. Tommorrow will be about the same but I'll mow the backyard lol
DH, Sarah, Jasmine, and I went to the state park tonight, because it's Jasmine's favorite place to walk. There's water and lots of interesting smells. We use the Flexi leash, so she has 16-ft of leash to wander around on. She goes out to the end, then walks back to me, than out on the 16 ft of lead. Back and forth. ack and forth. She gets twice as much walk as I do! It was beautiful out there tonight, since we were walking as the sun was going down! Now, DH and Sarah went to see Wall-E. DH only felt like paying for 2 movie tickets. I'm interested to see what they think. Time with Dad is good, too. Plus, we drove 30 miles tonight, just to go to Noodles for supper! LOL! We took the diesel, which gets better fuel economy. It was fun. I tried Pad Thai, for the first time tonight. It was yummy. I usually get the Mediterranean noodle dishes. A Japanese family right behind us, got something I'd never seen before. When we were done, I asked the wife, what they'd gotten. It was the Japanese noodles. I might try that next time. They even had chopsticks in hand, while they were waiting for their food. We used to have to go closer to Milwaukee to get to Noodles. Now there's one 30 miles away. Now, if they could just put one in Sheboygan!
Well DH's party went off really well and we played computer games until almost 2 in the morning with about 7 friends... Clean up was easy. We used plastic cups and paper plates so it all went in the trash. We were done cleaning and in bed by 2:30! Today we slept late, then we went to the mall and had steak escape for lunch about 2 and went to see Hellboy II... It was pretty good.. but I was so tired I almost fell asleep during it. Then we came home and took a nap. I don't think we did anything really productive all weekend which is very rare for us.
