ALERT!!! CIPRO, LEVAQUIN, & SIMILAR ANTIBIOTICS
According to the FDA, there has been a significant incidence of tendon rupture associated with Cipro, Levaquin, and other flouroquinolone drugs - a potent class of antibiotics used for bacterial infections. Apparently this relationship has been known and in the information sheets for these drugs for some time, but the FDA is now moving the warning to "black box" category. Cipro
I've taken Cipro a few times for bladder infections. Fortunately, I've never had any problems. I don't fall into the risk group, that they list at the end of the article, though.
Oh well, those are 2 of the antibiotics I CAN take.... and have....and do...........
I've taken it too, for UTIs. And, I'm over 60. So next time my urologist and I have to meet, we'll have some discussion about what should be prescribed, just to be on the safe side.
