Any remember REO SPEEDWAGON?
I guess I am showing my age. We are going to see them tomorrow in concert. It is a free concert at the Norfolk Naval Base(Open to the public). Since it is free, we are taking the whole family. I am so excited I saw them so many times as a teenager living in the Chicago area. I can't believe how excited I am. We dont go to concerts often due to the price, but you cant beat free
I sure do, and I agree you can't beat free!! Have fun!!
I can't fight this feeling anymooooooorrrreeee!!!! Yep. I remember them. That song's gonna be stuck in your head ALL DAY now! rofl I know--You're welcome. Have fun!
What a blast from the past. OF COURSE I remember REO Speedwagon. LOL! "I'm gonna keep on loving youuuuuuuuu.... 'Cuz it's the only thing I wanna doooooooo..."
Oh yeah!!!!!!! Love them. A true blast from the past. Trina, LOL!! Exactly the song that came to my mind!
Ohhhhh.... I broke up with my first boyfriend the summer Hi Infidelity came out and I locked myself in my room and cried constantly, listening to that album!!!!! MEMORIES!!!!! "I'm gonna keep on loving you... cause it's the only thing I wanna do!!" ROFL!!!!!
AAAAHHH!!!! Memories of those songs and Love's baby soft perfume.... lol
I always loved them. Have fun!
Side note: Jen made fun of me just yesterday when I was attempting to sync my Ipod - and she saw REO on there, along with some other music *I* like that SHE considers cheesey! LOL
They sometimes play here for the Sundown Salute 4th of July thing run by my city. I've never heard them, but I know they "headline" the free concert that weekend.
Oh yeah!!! REO was the first concert I ever went to. Richard Marx opened for them. He was pretty new and not a big name yet (did I just date myself or what?). We had floor seats and a guy friend and I made our way up to the stage and we were trying to catch one of the drum sticks that were thrown into the crowd. My friend actually got into a scuffle with another guy when they both caught one at the same time. Enjoy the concert! I would love to see them again someday. Oh, and thanks for the memories. I haven't thought about that in a really long time.
I like them alot and have several songs on my MP3 player. I'd like to see them! Have fun!
I saw REO along the river at an amphitheater (sp?) in Tulsa, OK when I was 16 yrs old. I think maybe Kix opened for them?? Or did they open for Whitesnake when I saw them? Been too many yrs ago... LOVE REO!!! Enjoy!!!
WOW, glad I am not the only REO SPEEWAGON fan. They were on of my favorite groups as a teenager/young adult. I told my almost 9 yr old daughter we were going to a concert and the name of them. She looked at me like I was crazy and said "Why cant we see somebody like Hannah Montana or The Jonas Brothers?"..LOL I told her when they come to town and they are free we will go
Hearing some of those other bands brings back memories, too....Whitesnake??!!! Kix, Richard Marx....oh my! I liked all of those!
Jackie, I'm seeing them on Saturday at the Belmont Music Festival in Ashburn, Virginia. I'm so excited, too. I loved their music growing up. Let's enjoy!!
Joyce, how cool is that I will let you know how they are. UGH..looks like rain is coming, hope it is short lived. They dont come on until 7pm and its 4:35 now.
When I was in high school, a big limo pulled up in front of my then boyfriends house. The window in the back rolls down and it's Gary Richrath asking if we know where his son is. His son was always hanging around with my BFs group of friends. I about died on the spot. I know I quit breathing. I knew the kid's dad was in a band but not that band. I've seen them quite a few times, too. Love them.
Even if it rains alittle, it should be short and should cool things down. Have a fantastic time!
I saw them back in 1975 when they opened for the Doobie Brothers! Wow - you have taken me back.
I have their LP's still! Love's Baby Soft, too funny Colette! Did you carry a comb in your back pocket, too?
The concert was awesome. I even bought myself a concert t-shirt The concert didnt start until 8:30pm Around 5pm it stormed here, thunder, lightening, the whole bit. I was worried the concert wouldnt happen. When we left, it had stopped raining, and was a warm night for the concert. I had so much fun.The kids even liked it, except my 8 yr old was a little bored. She couldnt understand why I needed to see live music, when I can just listen to the whole thing on the internet.
Annie... comb in the back pocket!!! Too funny! I did!!! AND wore a satin jacket! (do you remember those satin jackets?) And I LOVED Love's Baby Soft... they also made a lemon perfume that I loved! And high-heeled sneakers!
Dora(Tayjar),How cool is that with a big limo pulling up outside looking for the son of a famous person. I guess you didnt have time to run in and get a camera LOL
