Today is a big day in our house... Shane and Madison turn 6!!! I can't believe how fast time has flown by, from tiny babies to adorable toddlers to beautiful little people, with their own talents and personalities!! Every day I am so thankful to be their mommy, my heart swells with pride, and breaks at the same time, because they are growing up so fast. Shane likes to tell me "Even when I have kids of my own, I'll still miss you, and I will call you even when I'm a grown up!" Madison tells me how I am the best mommy ever, and today she said "You look so fancy!!" when she saw my in my work clothes. They are such sweet, smart, kind little kids... they have their rotten moments like all children, but they have good hearts and make me glad I have the privilege of sharing their lives. Their dad and I were talking tonight about the night when they were born, I think we are both in shock that so much time has passed, so quickly!

We are going to Worlds of Fun (a theme park in MO) in lieu of having a birthday party. it'll be their first time at a theme/water park. Today we will have cake and celebrate at home (I took the day off, which I hope will be a tradition), their big gifts from me are bikes, and they will continue to get presents from friends and family throughout the month. I'm super excited, maybe even more so than they are!

Crystal your post made me cry, you sound so very proud and with every right to be! I thought that they were great kids the little time I got to spend with them here.

No way... they are already 6 years old??? I just can't believe that we have known you for 6 years. My girls were 3 months old when I joined the group too, and they turned 11 in March.. I have known people on this site longer than I have known many of the people in my "real life". LOL and boy aren't we all getting old? Many years ago, at one point we had joked about seeing our children grow, marry and have children of their own... Amazing that it is actually happening, anyway.

Wow. I just checked and on June 18th, I'll have been on MV for 5 years! I think Crystal was already here, because I don't remember them being only 3 months old. My kids would have been 11 and almost 14.

Dawn, I was. I joined early Oct 2002, so they were actually 4 months old... lol the memory is the first to go!! It does seem like I've always been a part of MV, I can't imagine being a mom without it!!!

Thanks again everyone!! I still can't believe it, they have grown SO fast!! This morning Shane woke up and said "Mommy, I'm *6* now!!", LOL he's sooo cute! We really enjoyed yesterday, the weather was sunny (we've had a lot of severe storms lately, so it was nice to have clear weather!!) and we had a blast with their new bikes, then at the city pool. It started out with a special pancake breakfast, then I gave them their bikes, which they rode around the rest of the morning. We went shopping to get new beach towels and swimmies, and headed to the pool, where we stayed until about 1745. They got to decide a lot, like what to have for meals, how long to stay at the pool, etc, because it was totally their day! We had dinner, and I got each of them a cake, which they helped pick out, they opened some more gifts, and then we sat down to watch Alvin and the Chipmunks before bed. All said, I am so glad I took the day off for them, they were really excited to have me with them all day, and to have the whole day be all about them.
