Anti Virus protection

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive June 2008: Anti Virus protection
By Paulas on Sunday, June 1, 2008 - 09:07 am:

I have been using the free edition of AVG as the antivirus protection on my computer. Recentely I am receving warnings every time I go to a site telling me to upgrade to a 2008 version of AVG. The site looks legit enough to me but for some reason I am leary of typing in my credit card number to register online for this. I don't know why, I've used my credit card before online.

Recently, however, I did receive a call from my credit card company (as did my husband and some other local people) stating that my card was an at-risk card and they issued me a new one. There were no questionable tranzactions on my card, it was just a precaution.

So, I'm wondering if any of you have registered for the payable portion of AVG (it says by the way, that my computer is invected by 42 viruses but the free version I have can't remove them).

Thanks

You don't have to pay for the new version. Just go to grisoft.com and you will find a link to the download for the free new version. I installed it yesterday.

FREE AVG

Or for the ACTUAL download page:
Download AVG No credit card is needed, at this link.

Yeap, there's a new version. Gary's been busy installing it on various computers that he works on regularly.

Thanks ladies. I knew I could count on you. Oh, and I really do know how to spell transactions...sorry about that.
