Trina, we are getting a ragdoll kitten
Remember when I posted about my friend getting a Ragdoll? I think we are going to take the plunge. Ds has severe dog allergies, but only very slight cat allergies. His allergist said we just have to keep his room pet free, but they are so slight shouldn't be a problem. He stayed the weekend with my friend a few weeks ago, and didn't have any problems at all. We kind of were doing a trial run. The boys just love her Ragdoll. The same breeder has a litter due any day now, so we are looking at August. She keeps them 14 weeks. Any suggestions or advice? We really want a female, and are hoping for a seal or blue mitted one. Also, ds' allergist recommended a hepa air purifier for ds' room. Didn't you have to do this with your ds? Is there one you would recommend?
Oh, I'm so excited for you!! Ragdolls are AWESOME. I would take any gender or color pattern. In fact, when you go to meet the kittens pick whichever one has the personality you like most. Glad to hear the breeder keeps them for 14 weeks. That's a good sign. Andy is seal point mitted and Mandy is a blue point. The two Rag kittens we had to give away - Max was a bicolor and Tucker a blue point mitted. I'll post some pics. YES, DS has a HEPA air cleaner in his room, and the cats aren't allowed in there. It has been running 24/7 for 5 yrs. now with no problems. We have an older version of this model: Honeywell 17000
Oops, I'll try again later when I have more time.
I am really excited. My youngest ds(the one with the allergies) is such a HUGE animal lover. We had no idea he had such severe allergies until we got a puppy last year. We had to find a new home for him. It was one of the saddest times for us. But, he is very happy in his new home with one of his siblings. My ds doesn't know about the kitten yet. I think I am going to suprise the boys. The breeder was recommended to my friend by her vet. She is registered, and sounds great. She asked us a bunch of questions, and said she will help us match a kitten with what we are looking for in personality, etc. I will check out the filter. Thanks for recommending one.
Andy- 15 yrs., seal point mitted Mandy- 13 yrs., blue point These are the two kittens we had to rehome after DS developed asthma, due to a cat allergy. Maximus- bicolor Tucker- blue point mitted
OMG! Too cute!!! Love them all!
They are beautiful, Trina. Now, I am even more excited!
Thanks! Of course I think they're gorgeous, but it's their laid back temperaments and sweet personalities I love even more. I have tons of pics. Here are just a few to show you how sweet and laid back they are.
I want one of these cats everytime you post photos of them, Trina! Unfortunately, we aren't planning on getting a cat anytime soon. I know you don't have a dog but do you know how they do with dogs? I'm assuming, based on their laidback personalities, that they get along just fine.
LOL Trina, they are too cute, so are the kids. It is hard not to fall in love with Ragdolls. My friend's is so sweet and loving. My youngest ds is head over heals. She is all he talked about after his weekend there. He is going to freak when we get one.
The spca near my house just got a ton of exotic kittens and cats including Rag Dolls. They are in quarantine right now, but if anyone is interested the site is http://www.mspca.org/site/PageServer?pagename=ACAC_NevinsHomepage and the story... http://www.eagletribune.com/punews/local_story_137030458.html poor little things...
OMGosh. I read we are getting a ragdoll KITCHEN. Couldn't figure out what that was. The kitties are adorable.
