Sarah's almost done with school
Her last band concert was last night (and was most excellent, by the way!), and her rented loft has been returned. She just has to get through exams and Friday she is coming home for the summer. I have no doubt in my mind, that the rented loft is sturdy, now that I got to carry it about a block-and-a-half, to the drop-off site last night! Yikes. Then, I thought Emily had the nuts and bolts, and Emily thought I had the nuts and bolts, so we had to make a third trip up to Sarah's dorm room, to get that! We made it by the 5pm deadline yesterday, by the skin of our teeth! If you didn't return your loft, in the times they had set aside, it would cost you and extra $50! Then, after the concert, we went out for pie at Perkins and took Sarah to Walmart, and then packed up 2 plastic bins for me to take home, so there's less stuff to deal with, next Friday. She wanted me to take home her computer printer, too, but by the time we were packing up, it was after 11pm and I wanted to get home, and Sarah wanted to settle down for sleep, so it's still there. Moving out on Friday, shouldn't be that big of a deal now. She was home last weekend, too, and we took a car-full of stuff home then, as well. On Friday, Gary and I both took off of work, so we can leave for Oshkosh, right after we take Emily to school, and take our time, since we don't have to be back, until Emily gets out of school at 3. So, we didn't leave Oshkosh last night, until after 11pm and didn't get home until 12:30am. It was a very long day.
When I left work at UWSP last night I saw lots of parents with trucks and trailers packing up loft beds and hauling down TVs from the dorms too. Friday was the last day of class and finals are next week. I just give 2, both on Wednesday. At Christmas I saw students hauling load after load of laundry to their cars. I'm glad that Sarah survived her first year in college. I did too! LOL How did she like college life?
I bet she's so relieved! And next year will be better for both of you when school starts because she won't have the Freshman jitters! Doesn't Emily stay home alone yet? You said you have to be back before she gets home from school... Hope you guys have lots of fun!
Emily stays home alone, all the time. She needs a ride home from school! If you are less than 4 miles from the school, you don't get school bus service and I have no idea which city bus would take her home from her school! We live 3.8 miles from her school, according to the car.
Oh, that sucks! It was like that when I lived in Ohio too.
I know. You would think we would be far enough away! LOL!
Gosh, it seems like she just left for college! I can't believe she's done with her first year already. Good for her! Hope she enjoys her summer.
I know. Didn't that school year go fast? She is going to be spending some of her summer taking a CNA course, but it doesn't get done, until August, so she won't be able to get a CNA job, until probably next summer. Oh well.
