History buffs--I got a question
OK--this is out there, but maybe somebody knows what I'm talking about. There was an admiral from the American Revolution or maybe the Civil War that had a real famous line. It seems like his name was 2 first names like John Charles or something like that. Anybody have any idea what I'm talking about? I was trying tell dh something and my brain went blank and it's driving me nuts.
How about this: "I have not yet begun to fight!" -- John Paul Jones
I don't know. I found a website that had famous Navy quotes from 1776 on including that one. I did not see what I was thinking I remembered. I have issues of misremembering things. But thanks though. I guess I just goofed again.
Give Me Liberty Or Give Me Death By Patrick Henry?
He also said, ‘If this be treason, make the most of it!’
"Don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes" Give me a hint, I bet I can help you figure it out.. What did it apply to? There are ALOT of famous quotes, but if you can narrow it down a bit for me I can probably figure it out.. I have a DF that is a history buff..
