Supper Club
I'm starting a Supper Club at our new church here in CO and I'm so excited! It is basically designed to have ladies go to another person's house for dinner while their husband is traveling. I remember Scott was deployed and all I wanted was some "adult" conversation at dinner! So, here are the rules...what am I missing? (They will give me all their information and let me know when their DH's are traveling and I'll email everyone in the group so they can invite the mom/kids over.) Rules are real simple: 1. Guests are not to bring anything unless it's in their fridge/pantry already. 2. Hosts/Guests are to be mindful of food and pet allergies. 3. Feel free to change it to a different time beyond dinner time. The purpose of this club is to eliminate isolation while the hubby is away, so by all means! :-D 4. Be mindful of exchanging information and do not announce to any outside parties that any female is home alone during this time. 5. Kids are always invited, but always communicate any sicknesses ahead of time and possibly reschedule.
We're also doing this for singles/single mothers, etc.
will this be a pot luck kind of thing? i would think it would be more fun to have everyone bring a dish and just take turns at people's houses. maybe play bunco if everyone doesn't know each other all that well..or even if they do..it's fun! LOL
It's hard to do a pot luck because it puts some responsibility on the guest who might be home alone all week with kids and is so exhausted as it is. Bunco is a cute idea...
but, don't you think that puts alot of responsibility on the person hosting? you could do what has been called the 'miracle salad'..everyone brings their favorite two ingredients for a salad and you just throw it all together.
