Photo cards---need help

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion: Archive April 2008: Photo cards---need help
By Yjja123 on Saturday, April 19, 2008 - 02:09 pm:

I need to make invitations for my first Fused Glass Jewelry party :)
I need to have a collage photo card that will show my works of art. The inside will have the invitation details. Since I need at least 100, I need to find the least expensive place.
Any suggestions?

Anyone?
I thought there were people on here that had photo cards made for the holidays?

By Imamommyx4 on Saturday, April 19, 2008 - 08:57 pm:

Try www.shutterfly.com or www.snapfish.com.

I use Shutterfly and I think that their program can accommodate your needs.

I use snapfish and love their cards, but I don't know about the pricing for 100. I assumed that would be more expensive than a local print shop. Also, I'm not sure if snapfish has cards with a front and an inside. I've been really happy with them though, so it might be worth checking out.

I print my own pictures, and then mount them on cards that I buy at Michael's.

Oops, I didn't mean that I print them at home. I have them printed at Costco. I've also made collages with picasa, and have then had them printed.

I was looking at the 2 sites and comparing. Shutterfly has cards at $1.19 per card when you order 101+. Snapfish has cards $1.99 and I couldn't find a discount for ordering more. I liked some of the snapfish collage layouts.

But something you might want to consider is using the photo cards. Shutterfly has a 4x8 card, everything on 1 side, 1-9 pics and info. You can get quite a bit of info on it. And it is alot cheaper--59 cents per card for 100 cards. I have friends that use snapfish and they have all been very happy with them. I'm just used to shutterfly and have had a good experience using them.

I googled "on-line photo service" and the first 2 that show up is shutterfly and snapfish. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

By Imamommyx4 on Saturday, April 19, 2008 - 10:24 pm:

Snapfish's photo cards are less expensive than shutterfly's but less selection on the photo cards.

I quit. I'm getting too confused and it isn't even my project. :)

Good luck.

Marcia,
Are you saying you created a collage photo and had prints made?
Maybe if I can figure out how to print a 5x7 photo (that is a collage of several pictures) I could simply print the photos and attach them to blank cards that I print with the invitation info.
I do not want to spend $100 on invitations.

Thank you everyone for the advice so far.

I have used vistaprint for my Christmas cards for the last few years. I acutally do them as the large size postcards. There are tons coupon codes out there for them and i ususally get about 100 photo postcares (large size) with envelopes and shipping for under $20.00. You can uplodad your own design.

Thanks for that info, too, Tammie. I've used Vistaprint for my business cards, but never looked through their site too much otherwise. I might check into them for Christmas cards this year.

Yes, you can put several pics together on picasa. You might have to crop a bit of white off of the edges, because the collage will be a square. It works very well.

I love vistaprint, too! They have so many freebies that I've pretty much only paid for uploaded photos and shipping.

I have a catering/event planning business and I use Shutterfly whenever my clients want photo invites.

THANK YOU
Thank You
Thank You!
I created the perfect collage on Picasa and will simply have pictures made and attach them to invitation cards. Far cheaper than the other options and exactly the look I was going for.
