Say a Prayer - I just watched my neighbor's house burn down
We are having horrible storms today. Lightning hit my neighbors home(right across the street). Their house is completely destroyed. The fireman said we were lucky it was raining so much that it didn't spread. We live in a very wooded neighborhood. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. They just moved in last August, after waiting a year for it to be built. It is just so sad!
They are in my thoughts and prayers!
That's so scary and sad. I am glad they are ok though.
How very tragic. And what an awful thing for you to see. I, too, am glad that they are all alive. Did the pets (if there were any, get out?) Yes, I will pray for them. This is when they will find out who their friends are.
OMG!!! What a devastating thing to happen, and for you to SEE it happen! Many, many prayers for them!!!!
Hol, no one was home, not even their dog, thank God. She takes her dog to work with her. Their son, age 11, stays home by himself after school. I am so glad it didn't happen when he was home alone! I just can't image going to work, and then coming home, and there is nothing left of your home! She was in total shock, her dh was pretty calm. I just don't think it has sunk in yet.
The reality is, it is just walls. They are all okay, so maybe her dh is just focusing on that. They will have a lot of work before them, I hope their insurance is what they expect. prayers being said for them and your family too.
Will keep them in my prayers. That is so sad.
in my thoughts and prayers ...
So sad! They will be in my thoughts and prayers.
How awful! What a miracle no one was at home and got hurt! I hope that they will be okay! Prayers for them...
I am so sorry for them. I am so thankful that no one was hurt!
Very sad. Did you speak with them today? Curious how they are handling things.
Conni, I talked to her today. She said they are still in shock. They are just trying to process everything. They also feel very overwhelemed. They met with the insurance adjustor today. I saw their ds at school, and he cried when I gave him a hug. My heart just breaks for them.
That has to be so hard for them. I'm sure they are very thankful that they are all safe, but it can't be easy to have your life turned upside down and all of a sudden out of a home, and without any personal belongings. I will keep them in my thoughts and prayers.
As Kaye said, it IS just walls, and thankfully no one was hurt or worse, but the reality is also the fear and insecurity they are facing too. :-( It will take a while for them to process this, and the effects stay with you. I know Amy can vouch for that.
In my thoughts and prayers.. I am so glad no one was hurt.
Wow. As Karen said, it's just walls and they are all ok. I'll keep them in my thoughts and prayers. Their little boy must be feeling very scared right now. Poor little guy. I just attended a session at work that discusses the importance of lightning protection systems, especially in areas that are prone to lightning strikes. Florida, Texas, and Oklahoma were all mentioned.
