I might be the only one excited about this but......
Have you heard that the New Kids on the Block are doing a reunion tour! I was probably the biggest NKOB fan ever when I was about 13 and 14. I still have all of my obsessive collectors stuff from them, all the way down to pjs!! LOL
Oh no girl - *I* was the biggest NKOTB fan ever!! I was in jr. high also. I had front row seats once, after sitting in a snowstorm all night long for tickets. Jordan touched my hand and we were on the news!!!! I think my girlfriends and I cried the entire concert. We went to so many concerts. Such a crazy and fun time! My room was plastered with New Kids stuff, all the memorabilia, etc., but I don't have any of it anymore. You're a true fan! You'll have to put on your NKOTB jammies and rock out to their new music!!!! LOL I think it's kind of silly they are coming back, and I'm not sure where it will go, but we'll see. Just hearing that name brings back a lot of memories!
We camped out at their hotel once when they were in Indy. I have pics with their band and with Danny, too! I might try to dig those out and post them if I remember. My hair was big!! LOL
Okay, sorry, but you both are wrong! I was the biggest NKOTB fan EVER!!! I just swooned over Donnie. I had one of those HUGE buttons with him on it that I wore on my jean jacket! LOL! And there wasn't a single space on my walls or ceiling that wasn't plastered with a poster of them! We went to a concert in Detroit once to see them and Joey was sick and didn't get to perform! I remember my cousin who went with us was so bummed because that was her favorite new kid!
Ha ha! This made me laugh out loud. Ya'll are sadly mistaken. My niece Lauren was the biggest. She had NKOTB pants and pajamas.
This is too funny. Adena, I was IN LOVE with Donnie, too!! I don't remember the jammies at all, and I know I didn't have them, so maybe I wasn't the biggest fan. Maybe we should all meet up and head to one of their concerts together. Make the 'old lady' row, LOL!!
I am excited and can't wait to see what they come up with as far as music. I was a pretty big fan and can remember crying at their concert. lol... I had the bedsheets, several shirts, the huge buttons, the posters all over the walls, the sleeping bag, the barbie dolls, etc... I LOVED Jordan and just knew I'd marry him someday. I'd love to go to the concert because they promise to sing some old songs!
1989-1992? Not me. I barely knew who they were. I was 29-32 years old and in the throes of young motherhood. I didn't have time for New Kids on the Block! They were 17-21, at the time. They were never my thing. I'm too old! Sarah was born in 1989 and Emily was born in 1992.
I never got to got to go to one of their concerts. So I know if they come to Atlanta I will be there!! It will be funny to see them sing some of their old songs though!! My dad is a big coin collector and one year they came out with some silver coins with the NKOB on them and I was so excited to get these from him because mainly my mother always did the shopping for us kids and for my dad to actually get something on his own was special. It was just icing on the cake that it was the NKOB. I am going to try to find a picture of my room when I was younger, my walls and ceiling were covered. I had all of the dolls. Ok, now I am going to go to Mom and Dads to go through all of my stuff.
Wow, I thought they were out sooner than 89-92. I guess I was on the older side of their fans. How embarrassing, but I did love them.
That is so funny! No, I didn't hear this. I'm trying to decide if I would pay money to go...LOL
They were definitely out sooner than that, because I graduated from H.S. in 93. I was into them in 7th-8th grade, I'm sure. They had died out for me by the end of 8th grade. I've realized that all my pics are most likely in the attic, so I don't think I'll be posting anything. Wish I could though - what a trip down memory lane!
This is hilarious! I was a fan, but certainly not a "super fan". I don't think I would pay money to see them in concert, but of course it would be entertaining!
From Wikipedia New Kids on the Block are a boy band that enjoyed enormous success in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Assembled in Boston in 1984 by producer Maurice Starr, the members consisted of brothers Jordan and Jonathan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, and Danny Wood. The group went on to sell over 70 million albums worldwide[1], generated hundreds of millions of dollars in concert revenues, and paved the way for acts like Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC. The group broke up in 1994. The group reunited in April 2008, and are now planning a new album and an international concert tour in the fall. I didn't have kids in 1984, but I was busy working full-time and learning about a new city. I just wasn't into them.
Sorry girls, I was the biggest fan AND I was going to MARRY JOEY MCINTYRE.....no, he's is NOT the reason I named my ds Joey....honestly LOL Although my dd thinks differently. My room was plastered with all the posters from Teen and Super Teen and Teen Beat magazines. I went to 2 of their concerts and they were about an inch tall, or that's how tall they looked from my seats My girlfriends want to go the the concert now just for fun...they want to rent a limo and go. How hilarous would it be to go to a New Kids concert? LOL So funny!
I remember NKOB, but I wasn't much of a fan because I was a little too old for them when they came out. I was a huge New Edition fan though. Anyone remember them? Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky, Mike, and Ralph. LOL Too bad that Bobby Brown turned out the way he did.
I also liked New Edition, not a huge fan, but I did like them. I agree about Bobby Brown!
True NE fan. Didn't get to catch there last concert when they where here in DC in 07, but will diffently be going to the next one even if I have to take my 4 ( maybe 5 by then) year old alone. Yes truly sad and disappointing about Bobby. He still has time to turn it around so hopefully he will get it together sooner than later. Oh and I did listen to NKOB. Liked there music a lot, but was never a true die heard fan like you ladies.
I so didn't like these guys, but, who am I to throw stones? I loved David Cassidy!?!
Now David Cassidy is a whole different story! LOL! I watched The Partridge Family and definitely thought David Cassidy was cute! The series originally ran from September 25, 1970 until August 31, 1974 on the ABC television network, as part of the Friday night lineup following The Brady Bunch. Of course, I was 10, in 1970, the same age as the Danny character, in the show!
David Cassidy was just on Oprah a few weeks ago. He's still got it. :D I was never a big NKOTB fan. I joined the Air Force in '89 and so I guess I was kind of busy during the big years! lol I glad so many other people are excited, though.
I won't ever pay $ to see them again, but it's funny to me that they are back at it! I had a David Cassidy poster on my wall when I was very young. I loved New Edition and Bobby Brown, and saw them both in concert twice. I wasn't nutso though about them.
I was too old for NKOTB. Mine was Sean Cassidy, LOL! Remember the Tiger Beat magazine? Do they still have those??
Yes! They DO still have those magazines. But you know, my daughter isn't interested in those magazines and she doesn't have any posters on her wall!
