Per our divorce agreement, I can claim DS on my taxes on the even years, and ex-DH can claim DS on the odd years.

Is this stimulus payment for 2007 or for 2008? The past two times the government has done this, ex-DH has gotten the stimulus check for DS, which is $300 per child this time around.

It's frustrating because he's barely involved with DS and doesn't need the money, and I do everything with and for DS, and, as a single Mom, desperately need the money!

Anyways, would anyone know if the upcoming stimulus check is based on 2007 or 2008? Thanks for your help!

Another question....Is it a paper check or direct deposited into the person's acct who filed the taxes.

Annie - if you choose direct deposit on your Federal tax return and it is filed and processed by 04/15/08, the stimulus check will be direct deposited as well.

If you did not select direct deposit for your Federal tax return, you will receive the paper check.
